Rosie Baker is the recipient of the 2026 School of Management Young Alumna of the Year Award. Rosie serves as Communications Manager for the School of Management at California Lutheran University, where she leads strategic communications, event marketing, digital engagement, and brand-building initiatives that support the School’s students, faculty, alumni, and community partners.

Originally from England, Rosie relocated to Southern California with her family in 2015. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from California Lutheran University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, with an emphasis in Public Relations and Advertising, and a minor in Creative Writing. As a student, she distinguished herself through numerous leadership and communications roles, including serving as a student journalist for The Echo, social media editor for the university’s graduate Financial Planning programs, and Senior Editor and Writing Director for Her Campus at Cal Lutheran. During her undergraduate studies, she also published her first book, "Mirrors and Windows".

Following graduation, Rosie joined the School of Management as an Administrative Assistant for Undergraduate Programs before advancing to the role of Communications Manager in 2022. In this position, she has played a pivotal role in enhancing the School’s communications strategy, overseeing major events, expanding digital and social media engagement, and strengthening the School’s overall brand presence. She also founded the School of Management Brand Ambassador Program, which has provided experiential learning opportunities and professional development to more than 100 students while increasing awareness and visibility of the School throughout the university and broader community.

While working full-time, Rosie pursued her Master of Business Administration at California Lutheran University, graduating in 2025. During her MBA studies, she also embarked on an entrepreneurial journey through the development of UP-PUP, a startup focused on creating sustainable dog treats made from misshapen fruits and vegetables. Originally conceived as a classroom project, the venture reflects her commitment to innovation, sustainability, and social impact.

Through her professional accomplishments, entrepreneurial spirit, and dedication to student success, Rosie exemplifies the next generation of business leaders and represents the values of the School of Management with distinction.

Our 10th Annual Graduation Banquet was, once again, a resounding success. Because of the outstanding work of Rosie Baker and Alejandra Castillo, close to 500 graduates, family members, friends, and special guests enjoyed a magical evening over speeches, great food, a cocktail bar sponsored by Red Bull, music and dancing.

We're grateful to all our guests for celebrating with us, President and Mrs. Nunes, Vice-Presidents, and advisory council members for joining us and, most importantly, all our incredible staff and faculty members who helped produce this event. You all created a night that will forever be remembered by those we honored.

Yes, he did it again. Adjunct professor, Dorfman Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship advisory council member, and generous donor Professor Kelly Kimball announced a very generous gift of $100,000 in the name of MBA591 students who achieved a grade of "A" towards the Dorfman Scholarship Fund.

We are humbled and honored by the long-lasting relationship and generosity of Professor Kimball.

Shortly before this year's 10th School of Management Annual Graduation Banquet, we held the induction ceremony for Sigma Beta Delta, an international honor society for business studies.

Thanks to the great planning and ex*****on of our colleague Hana Petr (who also graduated this year), we were able to induct a total of 49 graduating students from various School of Management undergraduate and graduate programs during a thoughtful and joyous ceremony.

Congratulations to all the inductees!

Edward Egros's baseball analytics presentation at the University Village Thousand Oaks was a home-run! ⚾

The introductory session focused on how starting pitchers adapt their strategies through pitch mixing and sequencing as hitters see them multiple times in a game, and how that data helps with understanding such adjustments. The audience was comprised of lively, longtime baseball fans with several great questions!

Auspicious Austrians visited our campus from May 3rd to May 15th. They were the 2025 cohort of the EMBA in Austria program embarking on a 2-week California experience that concluded at Commencement. While in California, they took classes, visited companies, and enjoyed our beautiful campus and community. Several Austrian teams even took home prizes from the New Venture Fair! We're so proud!

Congrats to Kristen Bell, who was named one of the Top 50 Women in Business by the Pacific Coast Business Times.

Kristen is an adjunct professor in Cal Lutheran's MBA and EMBA programs, as well as the cornerstone in the great work that Hub101 is doing - from the New Venture Fair to the Dorfman Incubator Grants. She is more than deserving of the recognition.

Great job Kristin!

Our Sport Management Program proudly hosted its annual "Fields of Opportunity" event - a focused career fair for students interested in the sports industry.

With over 30 organizations from major sports franchises to Division 1 colleges in attendance, students created new connections and explored potential job, internship, and professional development opportunities. Many of these opportunities are exclusive to our Sports Management program's established partnerships.

Kudos to program director Mark Orlando and his dedicated students who made this exhilarating event possible.
