Today is our final film screening of the semester. This will be a tough but important watch. Meet us at 5:30 in Richter Hall (Ahmanson 100) to view “The Alabama Solution”.

The film “exposes the inhumane conditions, systemic injustice, and brutal treatment of those behind bars in the Alabama prison system told through their own voices and their own stories.” After the film, we will debrief and discuss prisons and prison reforms. Given the nature of the film, take care when viewing.

Snacks and drinks provided!

Interested in participating in research about the experiences of Black undergraduate students at off-campus parties at CLU?

Scan the QR code to complete the 10 min survey or reach out to the undergraduate researcher at [email protected] to participate in a focus-group or interview.

The purpose of this study is to record the social interactions that Black students have off-campus in non-academic party settings through a case analysis of the party experiences of Black students at California Lutheran University, a historically white institution.

The goal of this research is to shed light on how these off-campus experiences shape the sense of belonging and perception of social positioning that Black students have while on-campus.
