A big hearty Roadrunner Welcome to Mrs. Amber McElmurry, our new Aspen Health Clerk!
❤️‍🩹🧊🤒🩹☎️🤗

Mrs. McElmurry comes to us from EARThS where she worked with 560 students as the kitchen manager, and is so happy to join the Aspen fam so she can get to know the kids on a whole new level.

Her favorite part about working in the health office is getting to hear students’ stories and finding solutions for their boo-boos and problems, especially if they’re having a hard day.

Mrs. McElmurry was raised in Camarillo and resides there still with her husband. They have two college-aged daughters who she hopes will return to the area one day.

Her favorite trick of the trade in the health office is an ice pack. “Ice fixes everything! Got a bump or a cut? Ice! Tummy ache? Ice! It’s the best.”

Thanks for all you do, Mrs. McElmurry! We are so glad our office team continues to be staffed with compassionate and caring professionals for all of our Roadrunners and their families. Please feel free to say hello and offer a MEEP MEEP welcome! 💜💛

There’s nothing like the school Book Fair! Parents- remember the thrill of new books, the exciting purchases of posters and pencils, and the feeling of learning how to be a consumer with a budget and actual money? Now it’s Aspen students’ turn to enjoy these simple joys! Book Fair week is about to be home to the happiest Roadrunners! There’s something for everyone - don’t miss out!

The Book Fair will be open during Open House, after school, and during the school day for class visits and recess. If you’re not able to personally pay for your child’s selections, you can fill their e-Wallet that acts like a digital gift card (this is a great thing for little ones who maybe don’t have money skills just yet or who may not be ready to responsibly carry cash to school). You can set up the e-Wallet at your convenience:

Questions? Reach out to Ms. Lombardi who will be happy to help you - [email protected] AND don’t forget to sign up for a spot to volunteer so that the Book Fair runs smoothly for shoppers!

Scientists in Mr. Gaynor’s 3rd grade class enjoyed observation and journaling through binoculars, and then sketching what they can see from a distance. Science and art coming together to explore is a powerful and fun way to learn!

Thank you to all of our classified staff in Roadrunner Country!

Aspen would not function without the support and expertise from the custodial team to our office professionals; from our cafeteria to our computers. Our students and teachers are able to do what they do thanks to the care, data, support, resources, and knowledge of our classified staff! 💜💛

We appreciate you and thank you.

CVUSD's classified employees are an essential part of our learning community. They provide vital services and support that help students succeed each day. From caring for students and preparing nutritious meals to maintaining safe, welcoming campuses and reliable technology, their contributions touch every aspect of the educational experience. Our classified employees make a lasting positive impact on the lives of our students and families through their guidance, encouragement, and dedication. We are proud to recognize and celebrate all of our classified employees during Classified School Employee Week, May 17–23!

The study buddies that pickleball together, have a ball together.

Room 21 and Room A buddies explored some outdoor fun! Mrs. Calle and Mr. Gaynor/Mrs. Palazzo’s classes always find fun and creative things to do for kindergarten/3rd grade bonding! 🏓
