Class of 2026! This class has so many special, amazing kids! They achieved so much but they did it with heart, soul, commitment, kindness, and humor! Congratulations to these wonderful students. I already miss them.

Our Silent Auction fundraiser is now LIVE! Bidding will run until the LCMS Spring Band Concert on Thursday, May 28th. Winning bidders can pick up their items at the concert (concert starts at 6pm in the LCMS gym) or we will arrange to meet and drop them off. We cannot ship items so please don’t bid on something if you’re out of the area. We have a lot of great items including private music lessons, food items and experiences such as Martial Arts Classes, Bowling, Axe Throwing, Soland Excursions and even MAGIC CASTLE PASSES. LC teachers = best teachers! Celebrating being named a California Distinguished School!

So unbelievably proud of the Jazz “A” Band! The students handled an unbelievable amount of adversity this week including MANY students missing due to illnesses, state testing and other factors. We had a terrifying moment where a student suffered a medical issue in class (he’s doing just fine), and the students handled all of it with maturity and quick thinking. The amount of care and compassion these students showed towards each other is amazing. On top of all of that, we moved up this year into the highly competitive Intermediate Division for Jazz Festivals and without even knowing if we’d have the full band on Saturday (we had two students missing), they were awarded FIRST PLACE. Congratulations to the amazing bands from Colina MS, AC Stelle MS and Anacapa MS who were in our division. We got a chance to see Colina perform and they were amazing. Our students LOVED their performance. What a week!

Yesterday the Los Cerritos Advanced and Jazz Band students participated in an Imagination Campus Workshop at Disneyland called “Music In Storytelling”. They learned how music and sound are used to set moods, create ambience and define the atmosphere of different lands and attractions in the park and in movies. They then got to enjoy a day having a great time at Disneyland!

Now that we’re going back to school it’s Restaurant Night! Come on out to Sharky’s on Monday between 11am and 8pm for lunch or dinner. Show this flyer and 20% of the proceeds will be donated back to the Los Cerritos Band & Orchestra programs!
