When the Washington State mask mandate ends on 3/21/22 all other Covid plans, policies, procedures and protocols end as well. After the Board meetings on 1/25/22 and 2/22/22 Mr. Perkins agreed we are going back to pre-Covid standards. Nothing will be in writing because there will be NO Covid plans, policies, procedures or protocols in place. No mask requirements. No vaccine discrimination. No 3 foot distancing. No Covid testing policies. No contact tracing. No annual attestations. No shields at lunchtime. No locked water fountains. No symptom flow charts.

As per pre-Covid school guidelines: being exposed to a sick person and/or having any Covid like symptoms other than fever or vomiting will NOT be cause for students to be isolated, quarantined, tested or restricted from coming to school, participating in any after school activities and/or participating in any sports.

Parents will once again have the right as well as the responsibility to monitor, assess and treat their own children’s illnesses. Extra care, caution and discretion will be advised.

The world is teaching our students every day to accept, submit, and embrace FEAR rather than to take care of their own bodies in stable, scientific, and medically healthy ways. We hope every Thorp family is having a great 3 days of healthy breathing! Continue to teach your children healthy habits like breathing fresh air, getting exercise, eating well and being physically close to friends and family.

The FDA is meeting on 10/26 to discuss mandating vaccines for kids ages 5-12. For the next two days, the public can submit comments for consideration. THIS TAKES TWO MINUTES.

Click the link below, write your comment and select "individual consumer" in the alphabetized drop-down menu under "what is your comment about?" That's it. Please forward to everyone you know. Let's flood the FDA with opposition to this madness!

15 people gathered for prayer and a peaceful protest against the medical mandates at Thorp School. We are against mandatory masking and vaccinations AND we support our students, teachers, staff and administration.

There are several flyers going around about keeping your kids home from school tomorrow. These students have lost enough class time. Another idea is to come to school early with signs to help express your opinion and stand up for our rights to choose. Come to pray at 7:30 and/or come to protest at 8:00. We can have posters and signs. We can share our opinions. We can show our students that we do not support forced vaccinations, forced masking, radical protocols or medical discrimination BUT we do support our teachers, staff and administration that have listened, worked with us and often shared our same opinions. Grab a piece of construction paper and let your student make a poster and send it with them on the bus. Let’s give our kids a positive and active voice Monday morning!

Attention all parents but especially parents of 7th, 9th and 11th graders at Thorp School:

Washington State Healthy Youth Survey is a state wide test for 6th through 12th graders that measures alcohol, ci******es, va**ng and drug use which results in other risky health behaviors. For grades 8, 10 and 12 there are questions about sexual behavior and sexual abuse. This is a multiple choice test that takes a full period of class to finish. Questions include gender identification, sexual orientation, depression, su***de and whether or not you wash your hands or wear a mask and follow Covid protocols.

The survey states, “There are things we can all do to stop the spread of Covid”, and asks “how often they usually” wash their hands, wear a mask and stay home when sick.

I personally do not support Thorp students taking this survey/test at least during a pandemic. Our kids have already missed enough school. Our kids are already struggling with grades. Our kids already think enough about drugs, alcohol, su***de and Covid.

I feel it is disturbing to ask students to put down on paper that they are struggling with drugs or alcohol or su***de or gender confusion or risky sexual behaviors if you’re not going to help them. Their names are not even on the paper and nobody is coming to help or save these students. The student has finally admitted they have a problem, finally admitted they need help, finally asked for intervention and absolutely nobody is going to know about it, and nobody is going to step in. What a useless bit of information if nobody is going to actually help that student. You’ve asked them to put their whole life out there on a piece of paper for absolutely nothing in return. I feel this could lead to more despair because the student feels like they have finally asked for help and yet no help ever comes.

Dear Washington State: Get your hands off our students and leave them alone so they can heal from the damage that you have caused by over blowing this pandemic with your godforsaken policies, protocols, plans and procedures. We do not accept any further damage to our students by your useless survey. The kids are hurting, and you don’t need a survey to figure that out.

7th, 9th and 11th graders are taking this test at Thorp this year during the last week of October. Letters were sent home to those students participating. You may opt out by calling or emailing Laura Jones. Anybody can email Mrs. Jones and/or our school board your thoughts about Thorp school being part of this test even if your student isn’t in one of the participating grades. School participation in this survey is voluntary; therefore, Thorp School does not need to participate ever but especially during a pandemic. Email your thoughts today!
