Stellar is hosting a Family Fun Festival community event for our school. Come join us on Thursday, September 3rd from 4:30-6:00pm on the field behind the school. There will be games, crafts, food trucks, sports, and community togetherness! Pack a picnic dinner or purchase food at our food trucks. 10% of purchases up to $200 will help support our Girls on the Run Club. Please plan accordingly for the weather. We encourage you to bring chairs and blankets. There will be NO ENTRY into the school as BASE will still be in session. Please walk around the building to the field. For the safety of our students and families, no dogs are allowed at this event with the exception of service animals. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher. We are still in need of a couple more girls for our Girls on the Run team! Girls on the Run creates a welcoming environment where girls feel like they belong. Girls will learn tangible tools to build confidence to do hard things, strengthen their resilience with stick-with-it strategies, take on challenges and believe in themselves, and much more! Over the 10-week program, coaches help girls learn to unlock their unlimited potential. Girls on the Run will start on September 10th. We will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:35-4:00. 🛼🎉We would like to send a special shout out to our students and families that attended our Skate City Spirit Night! We had a record attendance of over 200 skaters (more than half of our school). By reaching this goal we were able to raise $1000. This will help with classroom expenses and student incentives along with helping to fund community events. This money will go directly back to our kids!

🎈Together, We Rise!🎈

What better way to build our team than by taking flight together! Thanks to Tamlyn Grace, hot air balloon pilot, for bringing her balloon, Calypso to Stellar. She is the balloon meister for the Erie Hot Air Balloon Festival. Our staff came together for some fun, laughter, collaboration, and team building-all while celebrating the incredible people who make our school soar.

From setting up the basket with the blowers and connecting the balloon, to pulling it out to air it up our team worked together and learned how to get a hot air balloon to fly. We then worked together to put 90 ft. Calypso back in the bag to be put away. It was an experience we will cherish!

We are ecstatic to welcome back, Leah Pellegrini, as our new Computer Science teacher. She was with us a couple years ago as our Digital Literacy teacher in the library. We look forward to her knowledge, creativity, and the opportunities that she will bring to our students. We know she will inspire our students to explore, innovate, and develop much needed skills in our ever-changing world.

Hi! I’m Leah Pellegrini, and I’m excited to be the new computer science teacher at Stellar. This will be my second year teaching computer science in Adams 12, and it is a happy return to Stellar where I was the school librarian in ‘24-’25. I started my teaching career in 1999, and I’ve taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grade in that time, as well as being a school librarian. I’m excited to bring computer science back to Stellar this year, and to watch it grow into IDEAS Lab next year! In my spare time, you can find me reading, writing novels, or taking walks and hikes with my husband. I also love to travel and am always looking forward to my next trip!

Hello! I grew up in the small town of Goodland, Kansas being the oldest of four. I went to college at the University of Nebraska at Kearney where I obtained a double major in Elementary Education and Music Performance and my masters in Educational Leadership. I have taught all elementary grades at some point in my career and have taught in Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Colorado. In Adams 12, I taught 4th grade at Coyote Ridge Elementary for 5 years, was an instructional coach at Stukey Elementary for 4 years, and I am excited to join the Stellar community as the instructional coach.
My husband, Brett, and I moved to Broomfield 12 years ago with our three children. We currently have a senior college daughter who plays volleyball and will be applying to graduate schools for Clinical Psychology. Our son is a junior at Legacy who plays football and baseball. Our youngest daughter is a freshman at Legacy and plays softball. We are kept busy trying to divide and conquer to see all of our kids’ games and activities and are enjoying every minute of cheering them on!
