Stargate School for Gifted Students K-12

I recently had the chance to visit with the high school robotics teams at Stargate Charter to recognize their participation and performance at the VEX Robotics World Championship.

We have such talented students in Thornton!

These teams didn’t just show up at Worlds. They earned their way there by first competing and advancing through the state level. This speaks to the level of commitment, skill, and teamwork they have.

I was genuinely impressed by their enthusiasm and technical knowledge. They were so excited to share all that they do. They walked me through how they design (using CAD), build, and program their robots and how they compete in real time.

They even let me try out one of the robots! (I wasn't very good at it!)

One of the teams created a design so innovative that only one other team at the Worlds competition had something similar.

The VEX Robotics World Championship brings together top student teams from around the globe, making it one of the largest and most competitive robotics events in the world.

Proud of these Stargate School for Gifted Students K-12 students and what they’ve accomplished. Definitely excited to see what they do next.

Advocacy in Action! 📣
Stargate had 18 students (high school and middle) attend the Charter Advocacy Day 2026 at the Colorado State Capitol yesterday. They learned more about how the government works, met with Senators and Representatives and were given the chance to speak up about the issues that matter to students! We greatly appreciate the time the elected officials spent with us.

Thank you to the Colorado League of Charter Schools for making this special day happen!

This past Saturday, the Stargate Middle School Brain Bowl team competed in their regional tournament at Heritage High School against teams from across the state and did an outstanding job!

On the 6th grade level, two Stargate teams advanced to the elimination rounds, with one team finishing an impressive 4th overall. Our 7th-grade team had an incredible performance, placing 1st overall and taking home the top spot. At the 8th-grade level, both teams also advanced to the elimination rounds, with one team earning 2nd overall and the other placing 4th overall.

We are so proud of our students for their hard work, teamwork, and academic excellence, way to represent Stargate! 🧠🎉

This School Board Appreciation Month, we recognize the dedicated individuals who serve our community by shaping educational policies and advocating for our students. Their countless hours of service, often unpaid and behind the scenes, directly impact the quality of education our children receive. Big news from our alumni community! Colin Duffy, Stargate Class of 2022, has joined the Pro Climbing League! Colin started climbing at the age of 8 and earned multiple World Cup podiums and two Olympic finals all before the age of 22!
We’re so proud to see him take his passion for climbing to this new level. Congrats Colin—keep reaching new heights!

A peek inside the Eagles’ nest! 🦅 From making Oobleck and painting Mesa Verde to cheering on our basketball teams, our Eagles were learning, creating, and showing their spirit!

A 3rd-grade literacy class had the cutest visitors today! 🐾 Puppies from Guide Dogs for the Blind stopped by to teach about guide dog training, to go along with a book they're reading. They got to spend time with them and sent them off with puppy essentials as a thank-you!🐶
