🎬 Lights, camera, action! 🎥 Our second-grade Quest students learned the fundamentals of stop-motion animation and put their new skills to work by creating their very own short videos!

I am so proud of their creativity, teamwork, and perseverance as they learned to “stay in the struggle” when things didn’t always go as planned. They kept trying, problem-solving, and making adjustments and the results were AMAZING!

🐟A perfect example of TEAMWORK!🐟

Our aquaponics tank is hard at work! The fish make waste, and helpful bacteria turn it into plant food. 🌱 The plants use the nutrients to grow while helping keep the water clean for the fish.

Our summer is officially coming to a close!😎⛱️ The countdown to Open House is on, and I can’t wait to welcome my new QUEST students and their families! Be sure to stop by and meet the newest members of our classroom family, Snappy and Fangs, our curious Venus flytraps! 🪰🎍🪴They can’t wait to “snap” into learning with us as we explore the amazing world of science.

In honor of the NBA conference finals, my students created a basketball catapult! 🏀⛹️‍♂️⛹️‍♀️Using the engineering design process, students worked collaboratively to design and build a catapult capable of launching a ping pong ball into a hoop. Throughout the activity, students explored important science concepts and vocabulary including gravity, potential energy, and kinetic energy. This hands-on STEM challenge encouraged creativity, teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking while connecting engineering and physics to the excitement of the basketball finals! 🖤💛🐾🏆🏀
