Simply Sewing

Simply Sewing I have been sewing since the age of 12. Now, 48 years later, I am eager to teach others to have the love of sewing I have developed over the years.

I was so hooked on sewing after taking home economics for 4 years in high school, that I majored in Home Economics. I continued with my education getting a BSED, MED, and SpED in Home Economics. This was back when it was really called Home Economics - not Family and Consumer Science (FACS) like it is now. I taught Home Economics for 20 years and then got a degree in School Counseling and was an el

ementary counselor for 18 years. Sewing has been my therapy, my creative outlet, and a way to teach others one of the most useful skills one can acquire and sadly is becoming a lost art. FACS classes no longer teach traditional basic sewing skills. My desire is to continue to educate others in the area of creating with textiles whether it is clothing, home decor items, and gifts.
