Teaching Assistant — Part-Time Contractor
Alma Learning Lab| Thompsons Station, TN

Tuesdays & Thursdays, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Compensation based on experience

We're a fast-growing microschool with a Montessori-inspired, multi-age classroom serving Pre-K through 5th grade. With just 9–15 students, our days are full of small groups, hands-on materials, and curiosity leading the way. We're looking for a warm, energetic Teaching Assistant/guide to join our lead teacher two days a week.

What you'll do
Engage with students Pre-K through 5th grade throughout the school day
Follow and support lesson plans prepared by the lead teacher
Guide small-group and one-on-one work, meeting each child where they are
Support classroom routines, transitions, and hands-on learning materials

What we're looking for
Genuine warmth with young children, plus energy, patience, and a sense of humor
A belief that kids learn best by doing, building, and trying
Reliability, our students and team count on you being there
Coursework, experience, or strong interest in education, child development, or a related field
Experience with children in any setting (classroom, camp, tutoring, childcare, coaching) is a plus
Montessori familiarity welcome but not required, we'll teach you
Must pass a background check

Summer camp at Alma Learning Lab has been everything.

Friendship bracelets, water play, shaving cream, bubbles, the floor is lava, and a whole lot of imaginative play with the best crew around. These kids have shown up every single day ready to laugh, create, and be kids; and watching them build friendships this summer has been one of my favorite things.

This is what learning looks like at Alma. Joyful, messy, real, and full of connection.

Hey Williamson County families!

I am looking for a few passionate people to join us at Alma Learning Lab as enrichment teachers this fall. You do not need a teaching degree to apply. You just need something you love and a willingness to share it.

Here is how it works: once a month, you come to Alma between 1:00 and 2:00 PM on a Tuesday or Thursday of your choosing and teach our multi-age learners (PreK through 5th grade) something you are genuinely excited about. That is it. One hour a month.

We are looking for people who can share things like:
Art or drawing
Gardening or nature
Music
Cooking or nutrition
Yoga or movement.. or honestly, whatever lights you up

As a thank you, we offer a $60 tuition credit for each session you teach.

If you are an enrolled Alma family, this is a great way to get involved and offset your monthly tuition. If you are not yet enrolled but curious about Alma, come see what we are about from the inside.

Summer camp at Alma Learning Lab kicks off NEXT WEEK and we could not be more excited!

From goat chores and water play to hands-on activities and fresh air every single day, our campers are in for an incredible summer of real, joyful learning.

This week at Alma was one for the books. 🦋🐞🌱

We released our painted lady butterflies and ladybugs into the wild — and let’s just say there were some very happy, very amazed kids. We also hung our homemade bird feeders in the tree where we discovered the most beautiful blue robin eggs nestled right inside. Nature has been showing off lately.

In between all of that, our learners planted seeds for a very special Mother’s Day surprise 🤫🌸, and fueled up with snack necklaces before heading out on our Earth Day nature walk. Every single activity was intentional, hands-on, and completely theirs.

This is what learning looks like at Alma — curious kids, real experiences, and no two days the same. 🌍

Introducing Alma Summer Play Days: a weekly summer experience designed for families who want flexibility without giving up meaningful, hands-on fun for their kids.

Each week is thoughtfully designed but intentionally relaxed. Think outdoor and water play, creative projects, open-ended exploration, and a calm environment where kids can just be kids.
