We are proud to honor Cooper Everson ’16, with induction into its Athletic Hall of Fame in recognition of his groundbreaking contributions to athletics, performance, and the arts. 🌟

A pioneering figure on campus, Everson became the first male student to participate in the Marianapolis dance program, redefining dance as both an art form and an athletic discipline through his exceptional talent, leadership, and choreography. In addition to serving as a lead performer in school productions, he contributed to the gymnastics and crew programs, competing in the stroke seat position.

Beyond Marianapolis, Everson earned national recognition as a competitive dancer through prestigious organizations and training programs, including opportunities with American Ballet Theatre and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Today, he continues to make an impact as a performer, choreographer, educator, and mentor. Congratulations, Cooper! ♥️💛

We are proud to honor Rev. Timothy Roth, MIC, with induction into its Distinguished Knights Hall of Fame in recognition of more than five decades of faithful service, spiritual leadership, and unwavering dedication to the Marianapolis community. ✨

Since first joining Marianapolis in 1975, Fr. Tim has served the school in countless roles, including teacher, coach, Dean of Students, Headmaster, Theology Instructor, and, most enduringly, Chaplain. Through his compassionate ministry and steady presence, he has guided generations of students, families, faculty, and alumni with wisdom, humility, and faith.

Beyond Marianapolis, Fr. Tim has devoted his life to the Marian Fathers through leadership roles in formation, provincial administration, parish ministry, and Worldwide Marriage Encounter, while continuing to celebrate Mass and serve communities throughout northeastern Connecticut. His lifelong commitment to education, pastoral care, and the Marian mission has left a profound and lasting impact on countless lives.

Marianapolis is proud to honor Heberto Valenzuela ’97, with induction into its Athletic Hall of Fame in recognition of his leadership, determination, and outstanding contributions as a multi-sport student-athlete. 👏

A standout soccer player, Valenzuela earned two Most Valuable Player awards, was named QVC Player of the Year in 1996, and received Connecticut All-State recognition. He also competed at a high level in tennis and contributed to the basketball program, earning Hustle Awards for his relentless effort and competitive spirit. In every sport he played, Valenzuela served as team captain, exemplifying leadership and commitment. His impact on the Marianapolis community extended beyond athletics through involvement in student activities and campus life.

Following Marianapolis, Valenzuela built a successful banking career in southeastern Mexico while remaining committed to community service and charitable initiatives. His character, leadership, and athletic achievements reflect the enduring values of Marianapolis athletics. Congratulations, Heberto! ♥️💛

Marianapolis is proud to honor Karen Tata with induction into its Distinguished Knights Hall of Fame in recognition of her extraordinary leadership, vision, and lasting contributions to the Marianapolis community. 🌟

Since joining the faculty in 1990 as a mathematics teacher, Tata has served the school in countless roles, including advisor, coach, dean, and senior administrator, helping shape generations of students through her dedication and compassion.

Throughout her distinguished career, she led transformative academic initiatives, expanded Advanced Placement offerings, and championed innovative, student-centered learning programs that continue to define the Marianapolis experience.

Tata also played a pivotal role as one of the six founding members of the Trinity Foundation, helping guide the successful establishment of the school’s new foundation during a critical moment in its history. Her leadership, collaboration, and unwavering commitment helped secure a strong future for Marianapolis.

A coach, mentor, volunteer, and steadfast supporter of the school, Baron’s impact on student-athletes has spanned generations. Whether serving on the sidelines, supporting athletic programs behind the scenes, or mentoring students and families, he consistently embodied the values of teamwork, humility, and commitment that define Marianapolis athletics.

Known for answering every call to help, often before being asked, Baron has been a trusted friend and role model to countless students, faculty, coaches, and alumni. His enduring commitment and selfless service have left a lasting mark on Marianapolis athletics and the broader school community.

We are proud to honor Kevin Goudreau ’83, with induction into its Athletic Hall of Fame in recognition of his historic accomplishments and lasting contributions to Marianapolis athletics. 💯

A standout basketball player and team captain, Goudreau became the first player in Marianapolis men’s varsity basketball history to score 1,000 career points, achieving the milestone before the introduction of the three-point line. He led the Golden Knights to Connecticut State and Quinebaug Valley Conference tournament appearances while earning First Team All-State honors and recognition as one of the top scorers in Northeastern Connecticut.

In addition to basketball, Goudreau excelled in baseball and later continued his athletic success at Anna Maria College, where he led all of Division III in batting average during the 1987 season. He later returned to Marianapolis as women’s varsity basketball coach, helping guide the program to one of the most successful seasons in school history while continuing a distinguished professional and community leadership career. Congratulations, Kevin, on this well-deserved honor! ♥️💛

We are proud to honor Keith O’Hara, with induction into its Distinguished Knights Hall of Fame in recognition of his transformative leadership, unwavering dedication, and extraordinary service to the Marianapolis community. 👏

During a remarkable 36-year career, O’Hara served in numerous roles, including teacher, coach, advisor, department chair, and Dean of Students, inspiring generations of students through his leadership and commitment to education. His most enduring contribution came in 2001 as a founding member of “The Trinity 6,” the group whose vision and determination helped save Marianapolis from closure through the creation of the Trinity Foundation. As a longtime leader of the Foundation and Board of Trustees, O’Hara helped guide the school through a pivotal transition, preserve its Marian mission and traditions, and establish a strong, sustainable future.

From authoring the school’s mission statement to supporting strategic growth and institutional stability, O’Hara’s legacy continues to shape Marianapolis and exemplifies the character, resilience, and purpose of a Marianapolis Distinguished Knight. We are proud to honor Olivia Summiel ’19, with induction into its Athletic Hall of Fame in recognition of one of the most accomplished basketball careers in school history. 🏀

A two-time team captain, Summiel surpassed both the 1,000-point and 1,000-rebound milestones while leading Marianapolis to four NEPSAC Tournament appearances, including two NEPSAC Class A Championships and three consecutive championship game appearances. Her outstanding play earned her NEPSAC Tournament Most Valuable Player honors, multiple First Team All-Conference selections, and statewide recognition as one of Connecticut’s top players.

Beyond basketball, Summiel excelled in volleyball and track and field, where she became a NEPTSA champion and school record holder in the shot put. She continued her athletic and academic career at Wake Forest University and later Virginia Tech before beginning a professional career in the NBA with the Utah Jazz. Congratulations, Olivia, on this well-deserved honor! ♥️💛

We hope everyone is enjoying our Halls of Fame series! Today, we are proud to honor Chrislie Lopez ’99, with induction into its Distinguished Knights Hall of Fame in recognition of her resilience, compassion, and extraordinary commitment to service. 💯

As a student, Lopez distinguished herself academically while serving as captain of the girls’ varsity basketball team and embracing every aspect of the Marianapolis experience with determination and humility. In 2018, she founded the Live for Brie Foundation in memory of her daughter, transforming personal tragedy into a mission that provides survival swim lessons and grief counseling to families in need. An accomplished attorney and partner at her law firm, Lopez has dedicated her professional life to advocating for others with integrity and compassion.

A graduate of Stonehill College and recipient of its Outstanding Senior of the Year honor, she continues to pursue excellence through advanced study, endurance athletics, and community service. Her strength, leadership, and unwavering dedication to helping others embody the values of a Marianapolis Distinguished Knight. Congratulations, Chrislie, on this well-deserved honor! ♥️💛

Marianapolis is proud to honor Josean Velez ’99, with induction into its Distinguished Knights Hall of Fame in recognition of his courage, leadership, and extraordinary commitment to service. 👏

For more than 16 years, Velez has served in law enforcement, building a distinguished career as a Narcotic Detective in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration while also serving as a SWAT operator, K9 handler, instructor, and Honor Guard member. His bravery and dedication have earned numerous honors, including Rookie of the Year, Officer of the Year, and recognition for his lifesaving actions during the Pulse nightclub tragedy and the rescue of a child. Beyond his professional service, he co-founded the Live for Brie Foundation alongside Chrislie Lopez ’99, helping provide swim education and support for families in need.

At Marianapolis, he distinguished himself through leadership, mentorship, academic perseverance, and athletic achievement, embodying the compassion, resilience, and purpose of a Marianapolis Distinguished Knight. Congratulations, Josean, on this well-deserved honor! ♥️💛
