Thanks to the Trout Creek Farmers Market for letting me test pressure canner gauges yesterday. πŸ™‚

Guess what???!!! 1/3 of the gauges that were tested were faulty. 😳 It's so important if you pressure can with a dial gauge to have it tested every year. This is a free service we offer in our Thompson Falls office by appointment. Our testing kit is compatible with Presto (and their affiliate) brand gauges. Call our office at 827-6934 to set up an appointment.

I had a lot of questions regarding whether or not you need to have weighted gauges tested. A: No. If you are canning using a weighted gauge, that weight will remain consistent throughout its lifespan.

Thanks again for the opportunity to test the gauges "on the road." It was great to meet so many wonderful people. πŸ‘

I will be set up and ready to test your pressure canner gauges at the Trout Creek Farmer's Market next Wednesday, August 19. Join me from 4-6pm, no appointment necessary. Our tester is compatible with the following brands: Presto, National, Magic Seal, and Maid of Honor. This is a free service and it is recommended to have your gauge tested or replaced every year. It doesn't take long, but feel free to drop off your gauge and shop at the market while it is being tested!

πŸ₯¬ What a wonderful evening!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Korean Kimchi Workshop! Participants enjoyed a hands-on experience making traditional napa cabbage kimchi while learning about Korean food and culture.

A special thank you to our instructor, Hana, for sharing not only her culinary expertise but also her stories and traditions in such a warm, fun-loving, and engaging way. We also extend our sincere appreciation to First Security Bank of Thompson Falls and McGowen Grocery of Plains for helping make this program more affordable through their generous sponsorship.

It was a fun evening filled with learning, laughter, and great food, and we're grateful to everyone who helped make it a success.

We hope to bring more cultural cooking experiences like this to Sanders County in the future!

πŸ“Έ Enjoy a few photos from the evening!
