Hands-on history in action! 🛖✨

Ms. Cook’s 8th-grade Social Studies students recently brought their Georgia Studies lessons to life by exploring traditional Native American housing. Students got creative by building 3D wigwam models, drawing detailed illustrations, or creating digital slide presentations to showcase their research.

Great job to all of our students for demonstrating their learning in so many unique ways! 📸👏

📚 Professional Learning in Action! 📚

Teachers at MacIntyre Park and Scholars Academy Middle Schools have been hard at work growing their instructional knowledge through professional learning focused on Teacher Clarity!

Our teachers have explored the importance of using learning targets and success criteria to clearly communicate what students are learning and how they will know they have been successful. They also dove deeper into the Gradual Release of Responsibility framework, learning how to structure lessons around four key access points: focused instruction, guided instruction, collaborative learning, and independent learning

We are excited to see our teachers put these high-impact practices into action as they continue to strengthen instruction and create meaningful learning experiences for every student. When teachers are clear, students are empowered to learn!

Career Awareness and Earth Science students teamed up for an exciting educational experience at the Challenger Learning Center in Tallahassee, Florida!

Our 6th graders explored the wonders of space as they watched an educational IMAX Planetarium film about black holes and our solar system. 🌌✨

Students also put their STEM skills to the test during an egg exploration lab! 🥚🔬 Working in groups, they designed and built landing devices to protect an egg from the forces of gravity—and we’re proud to say every group successfully protected their egg! 🎉👏

It was a great day filled with collaboration, creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning!

❤️💛 Building Confidence Beyond the Classroom! 🐾🐴

Sometimes the biggest victories begin with simply finding the courage to try.

Recently, students from Ms. Chrissy Mann’s eighth-grade class at MacIntyre Park Middle School visited Hands & Hearts for Horses for their first therapeutic riding experience—one of the meaningful opportunities provided through Thomasville City Schools’ Exceptional Student Services and our community partnerships.

For eighth grader Preston, getting on a horse was a big step. He was nervous and unsure at first, but with encouragement and support, he found the courage to climb on. By the end of the experience, those nerves had turned into happiness, confidence, and tears of pride in what he had accomplished. ❤️

The moment became even more special when Mrs. Janna Crane, who was volunteering with Hands & Hearts that morning, had the opportunity to work with Preston as he rode her own “retired” horse.

Through our partnership with Hands & Hearts for Horses, TCS students are able to participate in therapeutic riding experiences that support their confidence, emotional well-being, and individual growth in a unique and meaningful way.

We are grateful for the dedicated educators, volunteers, and community partners who help us provide experiences that meet students where they are, encourage them to take that next step, and celebrate right alongside them when they do. ❤️💛🐾

🌱❤️💛 Growing, Learning & Putting Science to Work! 🐾

A BIG thank you to Southwest GYSTC for gifting our Agriculture classes a 48-gallon compost tumbler and classroom compost kit! 🌿

Our middle and high school students are excited to put these new resources to work in the greenhouse, where they’ll learn firsthand about composting, sustainability, and plant science while growing a variety of plants.

We’re grateful for educational partnerships that bring new resources and real-world learning opportunities to our Bulldogs! ❤️💛
