Be the Reason we have an amazing school year!

This week, Dr. Issac and Mr. Tucker met with each grade level to review school expectations and discuss what it means to be respectful, responsible, and ready to learn. As we begin the year, we're encouraging every student to Be the Reason someone smiles, feels included, makes a good choice, or reaches their full potential.

These assemblies helped set the foundation for a positive, productive year where everyone has a role in creating a great school culture.

Let's start the year strong—together! 💪✨

🧪🍪 Learning has never been so SWEET! 🍪🧪

Ms. Howell's science students put the Scientific Method into action during our Oreo Scientific Method Lab! Students made observations, developed hypotheses, tested different methods for separating an Oreo, collected data, and communicated their results—just like real scientists.

Of course, the best part came at the end... they got to enjoy eating their Oreos after completing the experiment! 😋

A special shout-out to Ms. Howell's Pre-AP Science students, who took the challenge to the next level by delivering one-minute presentations to persuade their classmates why their method was the best way to separate an Oreo. They supported their claims with evidence and practiced valuable public speaking skills.

Hands-on learning + critical thinking + collaboration = science in action! 🔬❤️💛

📱 Supporting Focus & Connection This School Year ❤️💛

As we prepare to welcome students back, we want to remind families of an important update for the 2026–2027 school year.

In accordance with Georgia House Bill 1009, all Georgia public schools will implement a bell-to-bell restriction on personal electronic devices for students in grades K–12. This new law expands the state's distraction-free learning initiative to include high school students, helping create classrooms where students can stay focused, engaged, and connected to learning.

Here's what to expect at Thomasville City Schools:

📱 Students in grades 6–12 will store their personal devices in Yondr pouches throughout the school day.

📚 Elementary schools will continue following age-appropriate school procedures that align with the state's distraction-free learning requirements.

We appreciate your partnership as we work together to create safe, focused, and engaging learning environments for every Bulldog.

Let's disconnect from devices and reconnect with learning, friendships, and opportunities.

❤️💛 Back-to-school reminder-Please review the MPMS Dress Code with your student before the first day of school.

Also, remember that MPMS is an Electronics-Free Campus. Students should leave personal electronic devices (laptops, iPads, MacBooks, smartwatches, headphones, air pods) at home.

Thank you for helping us create a safe, respectful, and distraction-free learning environment. We can't wait to welcome everyone back!
