Hope everyone has enjoyed the long weekend. All 7th and 8th grade students need to make sure to bring their instruments this week if they are at home as well as any Essential Elements 2000 books that they have.

To clarify yesterday's post, B day students are getting the band handbook today, and the returned last page will be due on Tuesday when we return to school. All parents should ask their kids about this tonight if they haven't seen it already.

We will be going over the Band Handbook today and tomorrow in all classes. The last page is an information page and an acknowledgement form that needs to be filled out by students and parents. Students in band on A days will turn this in on Friday. B day students will turn it in next week on Monday. This will be the first graded assignment of the school year.

The instrument rental meeting is tonight at 6 in the band room. Any and all 6th grade students and parents are encouraged to attend along with anyone who has borrowed an instrument from the school in the past and now wants to rent. Essential Elements 2000 book 1 will be available to purchase along with portable music stands to take home for practicing.

Open house is tonight at 7:30! Come by the school to get all of the information you need and to meet the new band director, Mr. Litwin.

This is a last minute reminder that high school band camp for the marching band is starting tomorrow morning at 8 am. All incoming 9th graders are encouraged to attend. Please plan to arrive by 7:50 to promptly start at 8.

It's a busy week for the TMS Band!

Fundraiser order will arrive this TUESDAY (tomorrow), and the band room will be open until 4:30 for pickup.

The FINAL MPA rehearsal (for eligible 7th/8th graders) is WEDNESDAY from 3-5. This is required for all MPA students.

Finally, the TMS 7th/8th Grade band will travel to Lenoir on Thursday to participate in the NW District Music Performance Adjudication. We will leave at 7:45 AM and return around 4:00 PM.

8th Grade Low Brass and Low Woodwinds will have a sectional after school until 4 PM (not 5 PM). This is worth a test grade and is MANDATORY.
