Thank you to the students and families who joined us for our recent AP Scholars Night and Dual Enrollment Night at Scholars Academy and Thomasville High School!

These sessions were designed to help families better understand the academic opportunities available to our students and how they can begin planning for what comes next.

Once a Bulldog, Always a Bulldog! This week, we’re celebrating Margo Rainey and an academic journey that has taken her from Thomasville to Auburn—and now Gainesville!

Margo is a 2019 Thomasville High School and Scholars Academy Honor Graduate who continued her academic success as a 2023 Honor Graduate of Auburn University. Now a Florida Gator, Margo is working toward earning her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Florida in 2026! 🎓

Bulldog ➡️ Tiger ➡️ Gator — with academic excellence every step of the way! ❤️💛

🌱❤️💛 Growing, Learning & Putting Science to Work! 🐾

A BIG thank you to Southwest GYSTC for gifting our Agriculture classes a 48-gallon compost tumbler and classroom compost kit! 🌿

Our middle and high school students are excited to put these new resources to work in the greenhouse, where they’ll learn firsthand about composting, sustainability, and plant science while growing a variety of plants.

We’re grateful for educational partnerships that bring new resources and real-world learning opportunities to our Bulldogs! ❤️💛

Today, Thomasville City Schools joins our nation in observing Patriot Day and remembering the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We honor the courage of the first responders, service members, and everyday Americans who answered the call to help—and we remember the spirit of unity and compassion that brought our country together.

May we continue to teach the next generation the importance of service, courage, kindness, and remembering.

The Scholars Academy Sock Drive is happening September 7–18, and we need your help! 🧦

We are working with the Fountain of Life Rescue to collect NEW socks (packages of 4 or more pairs) in all sizes to help support those in need.

✨ Students can earn volunteer hours!

🧦 1 package donated = 1 volunteer hour (maximum of 2 volunteer hours)

📍Drop-Off Locations:

- 6th Grade – Ms. Strausser

- 7th Grade – Mrs. Sumner

- 8th Grade – Mrs. Rainey

Every pair of socks donated helps bring warmth to people in our community. Thank you for helping us spread comfort and kindness! ❤️

📐 Mrs. Lauren DeLay

8th Grade Mathematics | Algebra I

Mrs. DeLay is a dedicated educator who builds meaningful relationships with students and makes them active partners in the learning process. In addition to teaching 8th Grade Mathematics and Algebra I, she leads our National Honor Society, recently stepped up to serve as our Middle School Mathletes Advisor, and has taken on an additional role as a Middle School Volleyball Coach.

Whether in the classroom, on the court, or leading students through service and academic opportunities, Mrs. DeLay consistently demonstrates her commitment to helping students grow. Her ability to connect with students, encourage them, and partner with them in their learning makes her an invaluable member of the Scholars Academy family.

Passionate, engaging, and committed to challenging students, Mr. McMullen brings an unmistakable energy to the classroom. An avid reader, he naturally creates an environment where students are encouraged to think deeply, ask questions, and engage in thought-provoking conversations.

Students appreciate the meaningful discussions that take place in his classes and are eager to participate and share their perspectives. His dedication to providing an enhanced learning experience is evident in everything he does. Mr. McMullen will readily tell you that he wants to give his students 110%, and his daily commitment to that goal is evident in the experiences he creates for them.
