To everything there is a season…
New Hope has been one of the biggest parts of my life for the last 27 years. I stand amazed at all that God has done. I have been praying for the last few years about a way for New Hope to continue when it is time for me to let go. Today, God has answered my prayer. The pastor at Greenwood Baptist Church and I have been in discussions for weeks about the possibility of the church buying the school. Today the church voted and it passed. They have a beautiful facility already and are building a beautiful new building that will include a gymnasium. They also have a fenced playground with new equipment. Debra, Kris and I will be teaching but someone else will now handle all the administration of the school. They are retaining the name of New Hope and already have several new students applying.
We have been busy packing (a huge effort) and as I have gone through everything I have looked at thousands of pictures that brought back so many memories. I have laughed and I have cried. This is definitely emotional and bittersweet for me but I know that this is of God and I’m excited about the possibilities for the future. As Mike is continuing to battle stage 4 cancer, it is important to me to be able to devote more time to him and have less responsibilities. I love teaching and plan to continue for as long as possible, but now I can just do what I love.
Greenwood is planning an Open House, probably in late June. I would love it if you all could come but even more, I would love for all who can to stop by the school and see me in the current building. I will be on vacation June 7 - 21 but plan to work full days the last week of June. It would be an honor to get to see each of you as I begin this new season of my life.
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11
I love you always,
Patsy
