We are celebrating Homecoming Week with an 'Eras' Spirit Day! Throughout the day, we’ll be taking a look back at our alumni and who they were during their TU era and celebrating the impressive things they are doing now in their alumni era.

We finish off the day with Nicole Gatlin ’06, M.S. ’09!

Nicole earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from TU. Today, she serves as Executive and Clinical Director of Heritage Foundation, Inc., leading behavioral health programs that serve individuals and families throughout our community.

A licensed professional counselor, master addiction counselor, certified rehabilitation counselor and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, Nicole has built a career spanning clinical practice, nonprofit leadership, professional development and advocacy.

Nicole says, "My education at Thomas University provided a strong foundation for a career that has grown from direct service into leadership, advocacy, education, and service to others." She stays connected to TU as an adjunct instructor helping prepare the next generation of behavioral health professionals. She is an expert in counseling and addiction treatment and has earned numerous credentials: LPC, CPCS, RPT-S™, CEAP, MAC, CAAC, CACII, SAP, CCS, ACS.

From her TU era to her alumni era, Nicole continues to lead with compassion and create meaningful change for others. We are so proud of this Night Hawk!

Next up is Jeremy Jones ’10!

During his TU era, Jeremy studied business management and played baseball under longtime coach and former athletic director Mike Lee.

Now in his alumni era, Jeremy is the owner of Southern Promotions & Apparel, a Grady County business he launched with his wife, Brooke, specializing in custom apparel and promotional products. His leadership has extended throughout the community through civic organizations, local advocacy and service to Thomas University through the Alumni Board of Governors, the TU Board of Trustees.

Jeremy’s path from student-athlete to entrepreneur, community leader and university trustee demonstrates the impact of a TU education and the value of staying connected beyond graduation. Go Night Hawks!

Next up is Chelsie Cosby ’15!

Chelsie earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration–Marketing from TU. Today, she is a SHRM Senior Certified Professional, serves as an HR Coordinator for Archbold, and was recently selected for Leadership Thomas Class 43.

Chelsie’s alumni era has also been defined by service. She is a former president of TU’s Alumni Board of Governors and a recipient of the University’s Ambassador’s Award. She continues to help lead the Cairo Scholarship Soirée raising funds for students from Grady County to attend TU. In recognition of her professional and civic contributions, the Cairo-Grady County Chamber of Commerce named her its 2022 Young Professional of the Year.

From TU graduate to community and alumni leader, Chelsie continues to make Night Hawk Nation proud!

Chelsie is once again helping lead the Cairo Scholarship Soirée, continuing her commitment to creating opportunities for Grady County students.

Next up is Matthew Bowman ’26!

A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Matthew served as team captain of the TU Football team for all three years of his collegiate career, graduated cm laude with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise & Sport Science, earned Dean’s List, President’s List and Sun Conference All-Academic honors, and mentored younger teammates and fellow student veterans. His leadership, service, academic excellence and character earned him TU’s highest student honor, the 2026 President’s Award.

Now in his alumni era, Matthew serves as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Knox College, where he applies the discipline, leadership and mentorship that defined his TU era to the development of a new generation of student-athletes.

Next up is Janae Scott!

During her TU Era, Janae was a standout member of the Night Hawks women’s flag football team. She earned First-Team All-Sun Conference honors three times, was named the conference Defensive Player of the Year and helped TU reach two national championship games. She also graduated magna cm laude with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science.

After helping build TU’s program as a student-athlete, she was selected for the initial 18-athlete roster of the 2025 U.S. Women’s Flag Football National Team and is now building one of her own as the inaugural Head Women’s Flag Football Coach at McPherson College.

From standout player to trailblazing coach, Janae continues to make Night Hawk Nation proud!

First up is Meigs Lamb ’20!

A former Night Hawks baseball player, Meigs earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2020. During his TU era, he also presented research at the Georgia Psychological Society Conference and participated in community service projects. After graduating, he completed internships with the White House Office of Presidential Correspondence and Congressman Neal Dunn’s district office.

Today, he serves as Director of Legislative Affairs for the Florida Division of Emergency Management.

From his TU era to today, Meigs continues to make Night Hawk Nation proud!

🪨👀 Keep your eyes peeled around Downtown Thomasville!

Thomas University students have painted 200 rocks in celebration of Thomasville’s "TU-hundredth," and they’re being hidden throughout downtown and our local parks!

Find one? Check the back! Each rock has a QR code that can be scanned and redeemed for FREE admission to the TU Homecoming football game on Saturday, September 26 at 6 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Stadium. 🏈💚

Thank you to the Community Foundation of South Georgia for investing in our students and supporting Thomas University through the Hosea Hall & Lilly Eason Vann Fund for Thomas County. This grant will help establish a satellite Vet Center on TU's Woodlands Campus, providing confidential, no-cost support for veterans, service members, and their families in a welcoming, non-medical setting.

🌟 Last week, Community Foundation of South Georgia announced eight grants totaling $10,700 through the Hosea Hall and Lilly Eason Vann Fund for Thomas County!

These grants will support local charitable organizations working to meet the needs of Thomas County residents and make a meaningful difference in our community.

This grant program was made possible through the generosity of the Vann Family, who entrusted the Community Foundation with an unrestricted gift to help address Thomas County’s most pressing needs and support new opportunities as they arise.

We’re grateful to the Vann Family for their vision and generosity, and we’re excited to see the impact these grants will have throughout Thomas County! 💙
