⛈️ Mrs. Mathis' class had a sweet week of learning! 🍰

Students spent the week reading Thunder Cake and practicing recipe writing. To celebrate their hard work, they enjoyed a Thunder Cake taste test today! Since there wasn't a storm outside, storm sounds helped bring the story to life. 🌩️

Through this fun activity, students practiced sequencing, handwriting, listening comprehension, and descriptive language skills. The final verdict? A big thumbs up from everyone! 👍💙

Mrs. Cook’s class made Race Day Smoothies as an extension activity after reading this week's N2Y current issue, Terry Fox Run. Students learned about how millions of people around the world will join in the 2026 Terry Fox Run to raise money to fight cancer.

📚🧺 Our Pod Family Picnics Are Almost Here! 🧺📚

One of our most-loved traditions is just around the corner! We are excited to welcome families to our annual Pod Family Picnics, where students and their families can enjoy lunch together while celebrating the joy of reading.

As part of this special event, every child will receive a free book to take home. Reading together helps build strong literacy skills, expands vocabulary, and creates meaningful family connections that support student success both at school and at home.

Please see the calendar below for your child's pod picnic date. Be sure to check your child's Thursday folder as a printed invitation will be sent home as well.

✅ Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on.
✅ Enjoy lunch with your child.
✅ Take time to read together and make lasting memories!
