Each Monday I’ll share a quick video of the mahjong set that is in my dining room. (I keep mahjong set up so we can sit down any night of the week and play a few games!)

11 22 111 222 3333 - read the parentheses! Any 3 suits, any 3 consecutive numbers!

When teaching mahjong, I get a lot of questions about the Consecutive run section.

It was such a fun Tiles & Teas night at The Grove! 🀄️🍹 These ladies caught on quick and are ready for open play next week!

Didn’t get many pictures, but we had a Mahjong! Way to go Madison (aka Soap - she drew probably 8 soaps tonight during the games 🤣)

Hope to see more people next Thursday 5:30-8:30. We have an inside place in case of rain, so plan to join us!

🀄️Calling for a tile & joker use are the same!

Here I show you some common mistakes people make when calling for a discard or using a joker.

🚫Places you CANNOT use a joker or call for. You must collect these yourself!

FF (jokers are NEVER allowed in a single or pair, even if it’s the last tile you need)

☝️BUT, there is one exception - if you have one tile left for mahjong, even if you are playing a concealed hand, you can call for that last tile!

👍I like to just remember when I CAN call for a discard and use jokers…..only in groups of 3 or more ALIKE tiles! That’s all!

🃏One last thing - if someone discards a Joker, it is dead. NOBODY can call for it. 😞

New to mahjong but don’t want to break the bank? I love these for beginners!

💜These purple Mahjong tiles from Hobby Lobby (you can actually order from Amazon) are to cute and a GREAT price point! If the purple is not available, they also come in pink and white!

🥴After posting, I realized they are not available at Amazon right now. Buy you can check your local Hobby Lobby if you are near one.
