As the school year winds down, KidsGardening is thinking about the educators still gardening with kids right now. In between testing, field days, and end-of-year chaos, they’re still planting seeds, tending beds, harvesting lettuce, and creating moments of connection outdoors.
Many do this because they’ve seen firsthand what gardening can do for children.
It builds confidence.
It sparks curiosity.
It teaches patience.
It creates joy.
For more than 44 years, KidsGardening has worked to make that possible by offering free lesson plans, grants, educational resources, and support to educators nationwide.
If you’ve benefited from this work or believe in what it makes possible for kids, please consider making a gift today.
Your donation helps ensure more educators can keep gardening with kids, and more children can experience the lasting benefits of growing something.

The garden at in Los Angeles, CA, is a vibrant space for children to learn, explore, and connect with each other. Teacher and Director Nina Moench has witnessed countless bonds form as students engage and grow together in the garden.
KidsGardening's resources have been instrumental in building an educational program and supporting the educators. Nina shares how KidsGardening has helped her “to know this work is important and I’m not the only one that thinks children should have this close connection to nature." To show her appreciation, Nina says, “I love to wear your t-shirts when I am out and about, and I always sing your praises.” Through this partnership, the DIG Childhood Center garden has become a place where every child can grow.
Thank you for sharing the joy of gardening with your students, Nina!

Think about the teachers who changed your life.
The ones balancing Spirit Week, testing, field trips, concerts, and all the chaos that comes with the end of the school year. And on top of all of that, hundreds of thousands of educators across the country are also gardening with kids.
Many are doing this work unpaid and outside their normal responsibilities because they believe children deserve opportunities to grow, explore, and connect with the natural world.
For more than 44 years, KidsGardening has been here to support those educators.
Here are just a few examples of the messages we receive from teachers each week:
"I love the lessons and variety of activities for students. I'm always looking for ways to change things up, and your site helps with so much!"
"Your curriculum resources are amazing. I use them and share them often."
From some of the earliest youth gardening books published in the 1980s to the accessibility resources we released just last week alongside occupational therapists, we continue working to make it easier for teachers to bring the life-changing benefits of gardening to all kids.
If a teacher changed your life, this is a meaningful way to honor them.
A donation to KidsGardening helps provide free lessons, grants, training, and resources to educators helping kids grow through gardening.

This Teacher Appreciation Month, we've been thinking about the educators who shape our lives in all the best ways — the teachers who encourage us, believe in us, and help us see our own potential.
Every year, KidsGardening reaches more than half a million educators with access to grant funding, free educational resources, and a supportive community.
Your support helps today’s educators create gardens where children learn confidence, curiosity, teamwork, and joy.
If you've experienced the support of a teacher who helped you grow, this is a beautiful way to pay that gift forward.
