Today was PUMPKIN CARVING DAY! 🎃

It's one of my favorite days of the year! I love watching my kiddos faces when they reach their hands down into the pumpkin! We even had a special visitor, Mrs. Tashbin come help us!

This week we are completing an explanatory writing on the steps to carve a pumpkin! Having this real experience to connect their writing to is so meaningful to them and it shows in their work!

UPDATE FROM SUPERINTENDENT THREADGILL: Due to the expected weather conditions in our area, all MCPSS schools and offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. Based on the latest weather updates, there may be some unfavorable road conditions to develop overnight which may prohibit safe travels for our buses, students, employees, and parents. Therefore, we want to ensure the safety of all by limiting travel during this winter advisory.

The current plan is to return to school on Wednesday, as the road conditions are expected to improve. We will continue to monitor the weather conditions and provide updates as necessary.

All MCPSS activities and events scheduled for after school today, Monday, January 8, 2024, are cancelled. This includes athletics, extended day, field trips, and any other school or district sponsored activities or events.
