Completing the Kumon Math or Reading Program is the highest achievement a Kumon Student can achieve. When a student completes the Math or Reading Program, they receive an award for each subject and a special award for completing both programs.

✏️ After finishing the Kumon Math Program, students will have a solid understanding of working with advanced differentiation/integration and how to apply these skills.
đź“š After finishing the Kumon Reading Program, students will have a deep understanding of elements of literature, substantiate interpretations of passages, and further enhance their ability to read critically.

Meet Thanishkka. Due to her perseverance, she became a Kumon Math AND Reading Program Completer by age 10! By being a Program Completer in both subjects, she also earned a special Passport Award. Finishing the program has had a huge impact on her life by expanding her knowledge at a young age and allowing her to develop into an independent learner.

When asked for her words of advice to other Kumon Students, Thanishkka said, “Sometimes it can be frustrating, but keep going. I know it can be hard to balance school with Kumon, and just completing the worksheets can be a challenge sometimes. But the amount of knowledge and the great qualities you'll learn from the Kumon Program can't be found anywhere else. So, I urge you to persevere and persist- because trust me, you'll be thankful you did at the end.”

Congratulations Thanishkka, as well as the countless Kumon Program Completers! To learn about the Kumon Awards that can be achieved while enrolled in the Kumon Program, click here: https://bit.ly/35ZTJwO

The J by 6 Award is presented to a student who has completed Math/Reading Level J10 or higher before or during their 6th-grade year.

What does it mean to reach Level J?
In Math Level J, students focus on factorization, quadratic equations, and simultaneous equations. In Reading Level J, students develop critical reading skills and learn to understand the structure of passages and character analysis.

Akshar received the J by 6 Award in both Math and Reading in March 2021 while in grade 6. He has been a Kumon Student since he was 5 years old and achieved various milestones along the way before reaching J by 6!

His motivation to learn new material has allowed him to develop the ability to learn and work independently. This allows him to persevere even when material may be challenging. In Kumon, there are different levels that students will progress through. Students who reach Level C before or during 1st grade will earn the C by 1 Award.

Why is C by 1 a big milestone?
-In Math Level C, students focus on their multiplication and division skills.
-In Reading Level C, students take a closer look at the structure of sentences, how to express ideas, and understand the 5 W’s and 1H (who, what, when, where, why, and how).

These skills are a huge accomplishment for grade 1 students and we couldn’t be more proud to celebrate their success!
