The Woodlands Methodist School

The Woodlands Methodist School and Children of The Woodlands Methodist School provide an atmosphere of love and acceptance, where each child is recognized as a unique and special person created by God with the potential to grow and learn.

The program at The Woodlands Methodist School have been designed to promote the development of the whole child. Our rich classroom environments stimulate and challenge children. Our students question, investigate, experiment, create, and invent. In other words, the children learn by doing.

TWMS is saddened to share that Mary Beth Nolan passed away this past weekend. We know many families in our community were blessed to have her as a teacher in preschool, 1st grade, 5th grade science, or in technology class, as we were blessed to have her work at COTW and TWMS for the past 15 years. She impacted every student and staff member at TWMS and will be sorely missed as she was such a vital part of the TWMS family. Please pray for Mary Beth's family during this difficult time. We will share information on services as soon as they are available.

Second graders recently learned about research and completed a Cultural Research Project. Students were able to choose any culture to study. They could choose to present their research by completing the Cultural Heritage Research Project book, create a display board, or record a video.

Students interviewed a parent or grandparent to gather general information, and used that basic information to conduct further research. Students researched food, traditions/holidays, geography, clothing, entertainment, and found fun facts. Students then presented their completed projects to their classmates.

I know that it can be extremely frustrating to have another day off from school. I miss being there too! Just remember that snow is such a rare blessing in The Woodlands and learning is not reserved to just the classroom. Together, we can instill a life-long love of life and learning in all situations. I pray that you will enjoy this special time with your family and create long lasting memories with your children.

One of my favorite memories with my children includes baking. I know - It is messy - But the academic and developmental benefits are numerous…
Check out the attached chart and follow this link to add to the fun.
