The Woodlands Methodist School and Children of The Woodlands Methodist School provide an atmosphere of love and acceptance, where each child is recognized as a unique and special person created by God with the potential to grow and learn.
The program at The Woodlands Methodist School have been designed to promote the development of the whole child. Our rich classroom environments stimulate and challenge children. Our students question, investigate, experiment, create, and invent. In other words, the children learn by doing.

TWMS PreK took a nice long walk to bless a group of seniors in The Woodlands Methodist Church. Their voices filled the room and the smiles from the audience warmed our hearts.
The 8th grade honors students applied their knowledge of physics and sharpened their STEM skills through building a roller coaster! They rose to this engineering and design challenge by building, testing, and revising their roller coasters while simultaneously demonstrating physics concepts by determining speed, force, acceleration, and energy at various points along the ride. Upon completion of the project, they had to pitch their roller coaster design to a board of directors in the classroom.
Teacher for the day is a special opportunity for students to step into the shoes of their teachers. Music class is especially popular to teach! The beginning of Lent is recognized by Ash Wednesday. Students and families have the opportunity to receive ashes to signify the season of time for reflection and repentance. Our whole school chapel allowed us all to gather and share this time together. Thank you to our Children's Ministry staff for leading us through this important season.

Our PreK students are learning all about hibernation and migration. TWMS does not shy away from using the big words. A child between the ages of 2 and 6 has the ability to learn between 6 and 10 words per day (Conversations in Childcare - California Childcare Health Program). That’s up to 70 words a week! But there’s no way a child can reach those kinds of numbers if they are not exposed to language in meaningful, interactive ways. Students created dens for the bears to hibernate.
Did you know that all students at TMWS either have PE or athletics (5th-8th) every day? Movement is essential for learning, and it's fun! Classes recently enjoyed a fun game of Speed Whiffle Ball!
Recently our 2nd graders read and discussed the book ¨Stone Soup¨. Students then used the same ingredients from the book to make their own stone soup in class as a whole group activity. They also created a how-to activity to go along with it. Hands on learning is the best way to learn! #TWMSEagles
TWMS 7th and 8th grade honors students have worked on their Science Fair projects for the entire first semester. Students practiced presenting their materials to students and teachers. Next, students will bring their projects to a larger scale competition this weekend at Education for Tomorrow Alliance's SciTech. Good job Eagles!

Students in 3rd grade had to research their biome and write about the physical features & climate, the animals, and the plants for their report. They also worked with their group to create a triorama to show each of these things in their biome. They presented their biomes to 2nd grade and 4th grades.
After gaining extensive knowledge on the Colonial times, 5th grade celebrates by re creating a Colonial Day at school. Students, staff and parents dress the part, play Colonial games, make traditional Colonial decorations and even make home made butter and turnovers. Colonial Day is a rite of passage for 5th graders each year.
The Christmas Band Concert in Robb Chapel was filled with Christmas cheer! What a talented group of students to bless us this special season!
