New Years Resolution Idea #2 - Incorporate more physical activity into your schedule each week.
New Years Resolution Idea #1 - Read a new book each month.
📣 calling all high school students: your Student Council is planning a night of neon for this year’s Spring Dance! Save the date!
Physics students had to design and build a Rube Goldberg Machine to accomplish a simple task. The challenge had to include a minimum of 10 steps and calculations. They initiated the machine with one simple energy input and incorporated concepts of velocity, acceleration, forces, work, energy and energy conservation. Who knew feeding the dog and pouring a glass of water could be so easy and hard at the same time!

Mr. Wilkinson visited Pre-K to celebrate Christmas by reading the "Little Drummer Boy" and playing a drum solo! The best part was his word of encouragement to the students to use their gifts to please God!

After using popsicle sticks to build a bridge in previous years (which held over 350 pounds), Mrs. Masau changed the required material to balsa wood (a very lightweight wood, similar in density and strength to styrofoam). The students had to construct a bridge that could support a minimum of 3 kg (almost 7 pounds) within given constraints for size. The bridge had to span a gap of 45 cm with an opening underneath. The best bridge held around 21 pounds.

Chemistry students made Christmas ornaments as a practical demonstration of oxidation-reduction chemical reactions. Ammonium nitrate, dextrose, silver nitrate and sodium hydroxide were used to prepare a silver-ammonia complex that became a silver reflective “mirror” when complete. The result - a beautiful mirrored silver ornament for the tree! This takes "hand-made" to a new level!

Rather than a traditional review for finals, World History AP students prepared by completing an intricate puzzle. They put their knowledge to the test since this required specific content for the puzzle to align perfectly.

Mrs. Queck dressed as a chicken to teach her fourth graders multi-digit multiplication with the concept of "scratch, scratch...lay an egg." Who knew students would be so eager to demonstrate their math knowledge by acting like chickens?

The sights and sounds of Christmas abounded at this weekend's Christmas concert! We are so excited and amazed by the amazing growth in our fine arts department. There weren't enough seats in the house! Congratulations to our students on a job well done!🎄🎺
