Stay safe out there folks, we will do online lessons for today, we will revisit the situation day by day.
January 16th 04:30 am update:
Icy conditions exists on most roadways, overpasses and elevated surfaces. DO NOT get out on the roads unless you absolutely have to. We are not expected to climb above freezing today, and with the sunny conditions the ice will melt in the daytime sun only to hard freeze again this evening when temperatures plummet. Commissioner Crews and TxDOT worked for a third night in a row treating roads to minimize icy conditions as much as possible. No treatment is absolute and drivers are urged to use caution if you must travel.
All schools are closed today. Non-essential county offices are closed today as well. Please help our first responders who worked over 85 crashes yesterday by staying off the roadways and at home.
