The John Cooper School is an independent, college preparatory, non-sectarian, non-profit, co-educational day school for grades PK through 12. The John Cooper School was founded in 1988 with the first graduating class in 1994. The John Cooper School is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest (ISAS) and a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). We
currently have an enrollment of 1,031 students. Our college matriculation is 100%. Our 43-acre wooded campus includes: a Lower School with classrooms, science labs, choir room, library, multi-purpose room, and computer lab; a Middle/Upper School with classrooms, science labs, two libraries, multi-purpose room, band room, and computer labs; two gymnasiums; two visual arts buildings; a student center/dining hall; tennis courts and lighted fields for football, baseball, softball, track and soccer. A new 515 seat Performing Arts Center, with a black box, dance studio, and band and choir classrooms, was opened in September 2008. In 2011, a new Upper School library and four classrooms were added, and synthetic turf was installed on the football/soccer field. A Middle School football program was also initiated as part of a multi-year plan to develop football as a fall sport on the varsity, sub-varsity and Middle School levels.
