April is a big month for NHS. This past week, our officers and members donated over 350 backpacks to Oak Ridge elementary school, Interfaith of the Woodlands, and Bailey's Backpacks. These donations were the culmination of the organizations year long work. Thank you to everyone who helped provide for kids throughout our community!

Another common question we get is: aside from my/my students grades, what else are you looking at for acceptance into NHS?
The NHS application is designed to give our faculty council an overview of different areas of the students high school career, both in and out of the classroom. It covers three of the four core values of the National Honor Society: Character, Leadership, and Service. It is important that potential NHS members are able to showcase these values within the application process.

One of the most common questions we get is: why was I not invited/why was my student not invited? The basic criteria to receive an invitation is that the student must be a junior, have a 4.2 GPA, and have a clear disciplinary record of events that go against the core values of NHS.
