Class 101 is a firm that provides individualized comprehensive college planning services for students in 8th – 12th grade. We help minimize the stress of college planning for students and their families by providing expert guidance in the college search, admissions, and financial aid process. Class 101, as a company, has celebrated 23 years in college planning. After 10 years, he provided the oppo
rtunity for others to own class 101 franchises and work with families to find the best fit colleges for the lowest price for their kids. To date, we have 13 years of franchise success 47 epic franchisees and counting in 23 states. Six franchises happen to be in the great state of TEXAS-- Cypress, Katy, Grand Prairie, Sugar Land, The Woodlands, & Wilco South (Round Rock). It is very rewarding to work with students and help them navigate the college planning journey during one of the most difficult and stressful times in their lives. I guide students in identify college goals, academics/grades, learning to advocate for themselves, college list development, essay development & workshop, test prep, scholarships, resume building, DISC analysis, career research, and so much more. Being a former high school assistant principal and adjunct college instructor, working with students is my passion. However, since the beginning of the pandemic that tends to look a little different. COVID-19 has affected people in many different ways; my family included. However, aside from the negative ways, we have been impacted, I can say one positive is that I am now able to expand my reach of helping students plan for college. In addition to serving students and families in southern Williamson County, now I also serve students and families in and around The Woodlands—one owner, two territory locations. While it can feel like a setback, there are strategic next steps students can take to improve their chances.
1️⃣ Read the deferral letter carefully: Follow the instructions, don't reach out unless it’s allowed!
2️⃣ Find out what the college needs: Address any gaps or requirements they’ve mentioned.
3️⃣ Send a deferral letter: If permitted, write a letter showing your commitment and updated achievements.
4️⃣ Consider other options: Don’t put all your eggs in one basket, explore other schools too.
