The words of this beautiful poem depict the spirit of Juneteenth – freedom, strength, and hope. This is a spirit we all hope to embody in our classrooms and teach to our students here at Early Ivy- The Woodlands.

Juneteenth is a national holiday that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States.

What a fantastic first week of Summer! 🌞 With a pile of boxes 📦, paint 🎨, tape,hot glue, a few days and willing hostages (er teachers) we have a couple of pirate 🏴‍☠️ ships ready to set sail! There were lots of photo 📸 ops and plenty of aaargh’s ☠️ heard !

🏴‍☠️ This scurvy crew donned their tattoos ☠️ and set to work building a sea-worthy⚓️ ship second only to the Black Pearl!

First stop on our month long trip was learning what an island is and building bridges to get to the neighboring islands!
☠️🏴‍☠️ But BEWARE… I’ve heard some of those islands might have some scurvy occupants!! 🏴‍☠️☠️🌴

We shall see who appears tomorrow in their pirate 🏴‍☠️ gear!

🎉Happy 2nd Anniversary to our Executive Director, Alicia Strafel Bonifas! We look forward to many more years of fun, learning and growing! Early Ivy - Spring director Melissa Rodriguez and Early Ivy-Woodlands director, Isabelle Revelli treated Alica to lunch and laughter this afternoon! Early Ivy -Live Oak director Kim Croll joined in on FaceTime! ♥️

🎉🎓 congratulations to our 2023 Pre-K graduates 👨🏻‍🎓🧑🏼‍🎓👩🏻‍🎓 Every year is different and this year did not disappoint! The graduates shared one of their favorite times of their day- Circle Time with their families! With the colorful and engaging circle time wall by Experience Curriculum as their backdrop we sang and danced and showed off how we learn with Mrs.Samantha and Mrs.Nicolette. Our topic for the day was Graduation and there was a lively discussion. After poems, diplomas, flowers, laughter and a few tears ( not me, I’m not crying) we had fun together with our families. Pictures, snacks( because it’s not a party without cupcakes and nuggets!) and oh my the balloons!
And now we are ready for summer!🌞
