.missing my SU buddies and wishing them all a happy new year! Doesn't look like we will be be gathering in person again this year but I am so very grateful for our email connections and for the wonderful connections I have made with local demos who share so generously with those demos who are distanced from their uplines and team members. Hello fellow crafters...hope everyone has been staying safe and healthy as well as happy! I would have lost my mind during the darkest days of covid without having crafting (stamping mostly) to keep me occupied.Also I feel blessed indeed to be living in an area /climate where we are able to get outside and walk, golf and enjoy other outdoor activities. Now to get those Christmas cards in the mail! Sadly I finished making my cards several months ago..now to get them sent!

My demonstrator preorder box arrived yesterday and I opened the box and admired then stashed everything but didn't dare start stamping until I had shoveled off the stamp table and got all of my foam mount sets assembled. By then it was bedtime so I waited until my husband left for golf this afternoon to start playing around in the stamp room. I couldn't wait to grab the Baby Shark set so I started making a "little love ya & miss ya" card for our grands. Baby Shark is a big deal at their house so I hope they will like it!
Baby Shark will have a long swim to get to them as they are currently overseas but I know he'll make it eventually.
He's not fancy but he's so darn cute! You can't tell in the photo but I sparkled up his little shark tummy to make him stand out.

working on some welcome baby/baby shower cards as a gift for my DIL who is invited to a lot of baby showers. Pretty simple card and I'm always happy to get specific card requests from my family so I can give them something useful to them.
This one uses two really old (wood mounted,even!) retired sets. "Cherish the Moments" and "Love Bug"...but she doesn't care if they are current stamp sets, she just needs baby cards!

This little guy is the cutest! One of my favorites from my new stash!

How do you make a Stampin' UP! card without using stamps? Simple..just use the new "Dandelion" 3D embossing folder on a white cardstock panel then use a sponge dauber to apply yellow ink (Pineapple Punch)to the flower and green ink (I did use the Call me clover"marker for this part) to the stem and you're done!
Ok, so maybe I also stamped a sentiment on the inside..but what a fun, fast card and my fingers are barely inky!! I see more of these cheerful posies in my immediate future!

well, I blew it! wasn't totally sold on the idea of registering for the 2 day online SU Leaders event...thought about it today and checked to see that registration ended yesterday so I guess I missed it. Probably just as well, chances of sitting thru a prolonged conference at home via my phone or tablet would have been tough anyway. Guess I'll save that registration $$ for new stamping stuff! Hope those who registered have good feedback!

I have been staying busy in the stamp room during this Covid thing...yesterday I made a batch of sympathy cards. Don't worry, I am not currently "in need" of a sympathy card. Mostly I just wanted to "christen" a new stamp set with ink but once you figure out a card, why not create a few extras to have on hand? Especially since it's hard to plan ahead for that kind of card.
This card uses "Touched My Heart" (a hostess set from the new June 2020-May 2021 catalogue.

what was I thinking??!! Yes, like a crazy fool, I waited until this evening (last nightto close out my May club order. Had the worst time getting the payment info entered and processed. but whew! finally it did go thru...I just hope it only charged to my VISA card once! ;-) I'm sure it will be fine and it was totally my fault for dawdling but oh my, it was crazy for a bit! So glad I got that done...and set up a host code for June already while I was at it. I guess the beautiful Music from the Heart must have sold out because I wasn't able to order a back up set. I can't find two of the stamps used to build the "guitar" image..rats! I kept hoping mine would miraculously reappear but the small clear block where I had it set up has gone into hiding and it's been over a month so I guess I'm outta luck on that..too bad cause I love that option! Still hope it'll turn up one of these days...I hate that I can't find it but those photopolymer stamps are pretty darn clingy when they want to be!

just realized I never shared this card which was #2 project for my Stamp club in May. I was sad to see this set didn't carry forward to the new catty, but I love this beautiful set as it brings back memories of a trip we made last year..Amsterdam is such an interesting and beautiful place! We missed tulip season but on the river cruise part of our trip we saw quaint but fully working windmills which provide hydropower as well as living quarters for the windmill keeper and family!
Such an interesting and clever idea and this power source which dates back for centuries and is still used today! If you ever get a chance to tour the inside of a family occupied windmill, don't miss it!
