Introducing the new Head Cheer Coach for The Dalles High School! Kris Vassar was born and raised in The Dalles and after marrying her high school sweetheart they have had the privilege of raising their family here as well. She has had a successful in home childcare business for 22 years and has enjoyed volunteering for many years for the Wasco County Distinguished Young Women Program. As the new head coach of TDHS cheer Kris is excited to continue the legacy of competitive cheer in our community! She is looking forward to making many new friends and connecting with the young athletes and hopes to make a small difference in their lives!! Go Hawks!!!

Tonight completes the 2022-2023 season. Recapping one of the best years is hard to do in just an hour, but I think we managed to capture how special these 12 girls are. All 12 athletes were awarded their letters and patches. We gave out the coach nominated “silly awards” and presented the team awards. MVP/Most Improved was awarded to .grace.08 , 110% was awarded to , Most Inspirational was awarded to and Most Outstanding was awarded to ! To the 12 girls who remained dedicated and passionate, thank you! To our three seniors, Amy, Gabbe and Lexi, we love you and are so proud of you! For the final time this season, HERE COMES THE STORM!

Tonight we celebrated our 3 seniors for basketball and competition season. These girls have worked hard the last 11 months, and we will miss them so much! To Amy, Gabbe & Lexi.. thank you for such a wonderful season. We love you!

What a day to be a Hawk! Your TDHS Riverhawks placed third at State! 12 teams competed in 4A Traditional, which was a tough division and your Hawks hung with the best. The coaches could not be more proud!! We love you!! Go Hawks!!

What a full, fun day for our girls! We were sent off by the best crowd, and escorted out of town by our local law enforcement and fire department. We stopped to have a fun lunch at Red Robin, followed by a final practice at Gladstone with 8 other teams from around the state. We ended our final night before State with a pizza party at the hotel, reflecting on the last year and goals for tomorrow. A 10 month long journey boils down to 2 minutes tomorrow morning for you TDHS Riverhawks. Wish them luck before they take the mat at 9:15 tomorrow morning!

With only one day left before State, we wanted to make this final practice at home a special one. We invited family, friends, the middle school team and alumni to come cheer the girls on for their final full outs at home before State. Our guests got to witness 30 minutes of a 10 month journey, and see all of the sweat, blood and tears these girls have given to get to this place. We could not be more excited for Saturday, and for our girls to lay it all out on the mat! Thank you to our friends, family and alumni for making tonight so special! Now TD… let’s bring the STORM!!
