I designed this poster on Canva and had it printed … used a 50% off coupon so it cost me less than $15 🙌🏻

Instead of searching Pinterest every year for something I loved , I made my own just how I wanted it.

Creating brings me joy 💖✨ so I’m doing more of that this year!

And the best part? I can reuse it again and again by printing a new school year on cardstock + attaching to the poster. Done and done 🙌

Let’s be real…

Summer break should feel relaxing.
But if your teacher brain is still running in the background (lesson plans, bulletin board ideas, class themes 🙃)… you’re not alone.

This year, I’m trying something different.

Instead of planning every second, I’m giving myself permission to pause…
to sit… to float… to read and to sip.

Let’s be real: teacher self-care isn’t about bubble baths and Pinterest routines.

It’s about tiny shifts that protect your peace and give you a little breathing room 💛

These are 3 things I actually do… especially when I feel burnout creeping in.

✅ Automate 1 thing- Meal prep on Sunday nights, so packing lunch in the morning is a breeze. Use my set of editable parent letter templates so you don’t have to come up with parent letters on the fly.

✅ Pack 1 thing just for you- A pretty tumbler, a yummy snack, or a playlist that makes traffic bearable. Sometimes it’s the little things that bring us joy!

✅ Try a “No School Talk Zone”- That hour is off-limits for school talk, venting, or grading. And guess what? The world is will keep spinning!

It’s been a minute… and not the kind where you blink and summer’s over.

More like the kind where life throws _everything_ at you all at once. 💔

Since I last showed up here, I’ve been grieving my mom more deeply than I expected (even after 5 years), helping my husband recover from a quadruple bypass, facing two surgeries of my own, and adjusting to an “empty nest” that feels anything but empty.

And somehow… still teaching through it all.
Still showing up for everyone.
Still trying to find space for _me ✨_

I’m not sharing this for pity. I’m sharing it in case _you_ have been carrying a lot too.

Because sometimes, we don’t need a to-do list.
We need a breath… a pause.
And a reminder that we’re not alone 💕

I’m slowly returning… with more compassion, more clarity, and more purpose than ever before.

I’ll go first. I'm hoping that August...⁣

-Brings us plenty of peace ☮️... I used to be someone that had a hard time saying no. Then a few years back I turned 40 😜 (if you know, you know) and realized saying NO to others meant I was saying YES to myself. Gf don’t be afraid to say no… Especially if you’re feeling stressed and overwhelmed! It’s important that we learn to PROTECT OUR PEACE.

-Brings us an abundance of positivity ✨… With so many changes continuing to happen around us that are beyond our control, it's easy to get wrapped up in the negativity. But at the end of the day, change can also be a remarkable opportunity for growth and discovery🌻 Let’s aim to stay positive! ⁣
⁣
-Brings us mounds of happiness 💕... It’s crucial that we all remember to be kind to ourselves. I think we’ve been on survival mode way too long thanks to all the Covid craziness + after effects. As a result, we’ve lost sight of the things that used to bring us joy. This year, let’s try to remember all the things that used to make our classroom our happy place ☺️ Let’s do more of that!
