“A STEM Gem is curious, persistent, and brave."
We had a great first club meeting with our curious girlies! Our focus for September was Civil and Structural Engineering where we highlighted Norma Sklarek. The girls were tasked with building their own structures made from toothpicks and marshmallows. The goal was to have their structures withstand an "earthquake" and meet certain qualifications.

We had our first Mustang Market of the year thanks to our fabulous Morningside Elementary PTA The Colony TX ! I was awarded a grant that supplied all of the cool rewards our Mustangs love. The kiddos have been working hard for their CHAMPS tickets by showing our Mustang Must Haves. Keep it up!

Classroom Counseling Lessons this week!

K-2 learned about Personal Space and how to respect one another's bubble. We leaned that you should ask before entering in someone's space and practiced with a game.

4th learned how to compose, write, and send an appropriate email!

3rd & 5th learned about Time Management. We divided our activities in to Must Dos (the important stuff) and May Dos (the fun stuff) and discussed strategies to help us manage the two.

Our Kindness Ambassadors designed about 400 clothespins for our "Pin It Forward" challenge. They were secretly clipping pins on students shirts, backpacks, and around the school. The goal was to put a smile on someone's face. Students were encouraged to pass on the joy if they recieved or found a pin.
