On May 4, a day known for celebrating the Force, it feels only right to spotlight a staff member whose impact and leadership have truly been a force within Brilla.

Mr. Hachey began his journey with Brilla as a Teaching Fellow, coming to the Bronx with a commitment to serve students and grow as an educator. He later carried Brilla’s mission forward as a Recruitment Manager, helping identify and welcome mission-aligned educators into our community. Today, he has returned to the classroom, making an impact once again as a Humanities and ELA teacher at Brilla Veritas Middle School.

No matter the role or chapter, Mr. Hachey has left a meaningful imprint everywhere he has served. His journey reflects what makes Brilla special: educators who lead with purpose, grow within our community, and continually choose students.

Thank you, Mr. Hachey, for your continuous dedication, leadership, and the example you set every day for our scholars and staff.

And if you are an educator looking to make an impact, grow your leadership, and join a mission-driven community, Brilla is always looking for the next great teacher to join the Force.

What makes the next episode so special?

It’s all about what happens beyond the classroom.

This episode will highlight the many ways supports scholars and families outside of daily instruction — from launching a Family Resource Center to expanding High School Readiness initiatives and strengthening community partnerships.

These aren’t just ideas — they’re new projects actively taking shape, designed to ensure scholars are prepared not just for today, but for what comes next.

If you care about whole-child education and strong family partnerships, this episode will give you a powerful look at what that really means in action.
