We’re back with another ✨STAFF SPOTLIGHT✨ for this week! Today we give a warm and special shoutout to our associate conductor and HBV instructor, Chandler Scott! We are so grateful for her continued passion for teaching music to the students in our Bronx community. 🎶
A proud Georgia native, Chandler Scott (she/her) is a dynamic music educator and choral conductor with over 11 years of experience. She earned her undergraduate degree in Music Education in Georgia and her Master of Music Education from Florida State University, specializing in choral music, choral conducting, and innovative strategies for special education learners. Her career spans diverse educational environments—from directing large award-winning choral programs serving over 400 students in Georgia to teaching high school students in South Bronx advanced courses in singing, general music, hip-hop history, music production, technology, and modern band & choir. She recently became the founding Director of Music at P17X High School in East Bronx—a school dedicated to educating students with moderate to severe autism. Chandler delivers engaging, inclusive musical experiences that spark creativity and academic excellence. Beyond the classroom, Chandler is deeply committed to choral excellence through her active participation through the years in community and professional choirs, most recently serving five seasons with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus. Her leadership is marked by a passion for singing and creating, a focus on building trust and community, and a dedication to nurturing student leadership and independence in every ensemble.

Introducing the✨STAFF SPOTLIGHT✨ of the week! Today we give a huge shoutout to our accompanist and associate conductor, Antonio Del Valle! We are so grateful to them for preparing our HB Voices students for our Winter Melodies Concert next month! 🎶
Antonio (he/they) is a genre-bending composer, producer, and music director from Queens, New York. Trained at the Professional Performing Arts School in Manhattan, they went on to receive their Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Musical Theater with an emphasis in Songwriting at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee College of Music. Their most recent experience includes working as a pianist for the Broadway Sitzprobe Experience of Dreamgirls at Lincoln Center, conducted by Seth Rudetsky. Antonio served as the music director for CROWNS by Regina Taylor in New Jersey to celebrate Black History Month, and continues to work as an educator and pianist at Highbridge Voices in the Bronx. They have shown their love for their work through music directing and private instructing in other organizations such as Artistree Performing Arts in Westchester County. Antonio also worked as composer and arranger for Midsummer Sounds, an intimate concert of new work at the Bed-Stuy Art House in Brooklyn. Antonio produced an original EP titled “Up All Night,” and worked briefly as an audio engineer at Plug Studios in the Bronx. For their original work titled “Something Strange,” an exploration of their gender identity, Antonio was awarded the Berklee Songwriter’s Award in 2020. Since recently, Antonio has been a part of the BMI Lehman Engel Workshop as a composer-lyricist and is currently developing a new musical called South First. As an Afro-Puerto Rican, Antonio is passionate about creating music that highlights the rich musical culture of the Caribbean, and preserving the legacy of West African culture across the diaspora. They write music that explores the depths of their consciousness, and surfaces anew.

The Highbridge Voices team is very excited that we transformed our Classroom #3 into a piano lab last month! We are thrilled to announce that we are opening the piano lab again for BIWEEKLY piano classes again! A huge shoutout and thanks to our awesome music director Michelle Trinidad for graciously donating her pianos for our kiddos. Our piano classes were an important component for HBV students to be a part of before COVID-19 and it is amazing that we are now able to have the pianos to continue again. Send us an email or DM if you have any student(s) in Grades 4-12 interested in taking part in our classes!
