Hey besties!
awards and smelly stickers go a long way in our classroom!
We've been on a roll with our reading assessments and I am so proud of our second graders.
These awards weren't initially for reading and math assessments. I just had so many and didn't want to throw them away. I decided to celebrate the small things which evolved into very special celebrations for every student, not just those who reached an ideal benchmark. As far as the smelly stickers... they just make us all happy lol. I'll save the awards story for another day. 😊

This was our first time visiting Green Meadows Farm and we had the best time! Green Meadows put together a culture fair along with some farm activities.

My humble beginnings as a teacher started in a North Carolina 11 years ago. I knew we worked extremely hard under crazy expectations but I figured that's just what teachers do. .
I loved teaching in NC then and I still miss it but looking through a lense today I can honestly say I wouldn't go back. From the countless hours after and before school we worked with no compensation because as a teacher you're on the clock until the day is done to the pay some how getting lower every year but our taxes and health insurance getting higher and everything else in between deserve so much better.
I hate that I couldn't physically be there with you all today but please know that I'm still on your side.❤

TEACHER HACK!!!
✏I am currently a second grade teacher but I recently completed and test prep with a group of 3rd grade students. I was a little nervous but also figured it was an opportunity to brush up on my upper grade skills. I'm glad I did it because for me it really connected where my second graders start and where they're going when they get to 3rd grade. I was able to see the foundation of first and second grade skills that I'm used to teaching expand with the third graders.
✏Now I feel even more equipped to transition my 2nd graders in to a 3rd grade world. We have already made changes in our teaching to lift the level of and expectations in how we teach content and how our students can display what they are learning. This can also work for teachers who want more of an understanding in lower grade content. Knowing foundational skills can help when working with students who need .
✏I have found more benefits from this so if your interested just message me. 😎 If you have an opportunity to teach in a grade other than what you are teaching you should really try it!

I would like to thank for sending me the most cutest bows ever just in time for Big Bow Friday! I even recieved a hand written note with my purchase! My students absolutely love that I wear bows now just to look like them. The bow queen even bought a new bow that smelled like cherries to show us how it's done! ❤🎀

◽Both my co-teacher and I have been teaching third grade test prep and we picked up some really good practices!
◽For we made some changes and added to give them a jump start on 3rd grade
◽Today we practiced after we read a paragraph and wrote a short phrase to explain what the paragraph was mostly about. After we finished the passage we referred back to our annotations and jotted about what we learned.
◽Our 3rd graders do way more with their annotations but we did well with what we learned today. 😁 @ Bronx, New York

◽After work I met my dad. I got in the car and the first thing he said was "What is all that in your hair?" Me- It's a bow lol! Dad- Take a picture and put it on Facebook. Me- 😂
◽I wore this bow today because so many of our young ladies wear them everyday and I wanted to look like them! The students loved my bow and some how I have to wear one every Friday 🤣
◽We do have an unofficial queen of bows at our school who at first wasn't too happy about my bow but I think we're friends again! 🎀 @ Bronx, New York

◽We introduced and tried out a perseverance problem for our block. We asked our principal to come by and check us out and by the end we were all teaching.😁 She was such a hit that the kids have been asking when was she coming back lol.
◽Honestly we have been wanting to make some changes during our 5 practices block because our students weren't having rich conversations about the math we were focusing on.
◽We picked up some great practices and the next perseverance problem was great! Our students had so much to say about their problem solving and we even added to our chart. If you don't have this kind or relationship with your administration this idea will probably feel scary but ask anyway! If you need some pointers just send me a message. 😊 @ Bronx, New York

.robinson_5th.grade has been teaching for a while and she found these while doing some spring cleaning! I still have my but I am so glad I never had to fill these out! 😂 Thank goodness for growth! O couldn't imagine doing 25-30 of these by hand! Does anyone else still have their hand written report cards?

▫️Thank you for donating to my classroom! We did the first breathing exercise today and it was awesome. The children were instantly hooked and we all felt much more clam and focused after recess and lunch. They are already looking foward to tomorrow's breathing excersise but I wouldn't show them what it was. 😁
▫️We also use online resources for but honestly I think the kids enjoyed this much better. I know it refocused my brain and I was the one reading it! Our transition to math was quick and easy afterward.
▫️Side note: The background in the first pic is us discussing hopscotch procedures on our playground and I think it's a dope photo lol! @ Bronx, New York
