♥️We are proud to honor Dr. Diane Price Banks Class of 2000, a distinguished DeWitt Clinton High School alumna whose journey reflects resilience, transformation, and the power of perseverance.

Once facing significant challenges as a student, she found direction and purpose through mentorship, leadership, and a commitment to excellence—ultimately graduating and continuing her education with determination.

Today, she is a Full Professor at Bronx Community College and Program Director of the Medical Laboratory Technician Program, as well as the first Black female full professor in the Biological Sciences department.

Dr. Banks holds a Ph.D. in Urban Education from the CUNY Graduate Center, along with multiple advanced degrees and certifications, and has contributed extensively to research in STEM education, public health, and clinical laboratory science.

A published scholar, dedicated educator, and community leader, she continues to inspire future generations through her work, outreach, and service.

Her story powerfully embodies DeWitt Clinton’s motto:

“Sine Labore Nihil” — Nothing without work.♥️

Leslie Dunn ✨

After graduating at age 17, he went on to earn a Civil Engineering degree from the City College of New York and a Master’s in Sanitary Engineering from Tulane University, launching a remarkable career with the U.S. Public Health Service.

Over 21 years, he rose to the rank of Naval Captain and Engineering Director, contributing to major national programs in environmental protection, radiation safety, and air and water quality.

Following his service, he co-founded Dunrite Construction with his wife, Joan, developing major commercial projects in Henderson, Nevada, including the Galleria at Sunset, and later built and operated a 250-bed nursing home.

A dedicated philanthropist, he has supported education through land donations and scholarships, while raising a family and continuing a legacy of hard work and service.

He truly embodies Clinton’s enduring motto:

“Sine labore nihil” — Nothing without work.

Our DeWitt Clinton High School Alumni community expresses their deepest condolences to the family of Willie Colón.

Willie Colón attended DeWitt Clinton High School and left early when at the age of 15, he was signed to Fania Records, and at 17, he recorded his first album, which ultimately sold more than 300,000 copies.

Willie Colón’s impact on music is legendary and his career as a musician fills our hearts with pride and respect. We reached out to him in December to include him in our upcoming celebration of our alma mater after finding in our archives a listing of him as a notable musician from DWC.

Rest in Power Willie Colón, a Clinton Man.

The DeWitt Clinton H.S. Alumni Board is thrilled to celebrate the building's 100th anniversary on Mosholu Parkway in 2029. Alumni activities will run from now until 2029, with ideas from alumni for future events welcome.

Join us on October 25th for an Alumni 2K walk in memory of Mr. Bert Blanco, who hosted annual 5K/2K events as COSA. Next year, we plan to roll out the 5K/2K based on your participation. We invite local community support as Friends of DeWitt Clinton High School and will create an alumni track/walking club. Bring a friend or family member so we can have at least 100 alumni and friends show up on Oct. 25th to support our alma mater.
