Atmosphere Academy is a SUNY-authorized public charter school in the Bronx serving students in grades 6 through 12. The school’s mission is to create an “atmosphere” for learning where students and educators realize their full potential as collaborative leaders. Atmosphere provides a rigorous academic program alongside a wide range of enrichment opportunities that help students build strong academ

ic skills, deepen their knowledge, and develop character, leadership, and critical thinking abilities. Through engaging instruction, supportive relationships, and opportunities in areas such as arts, athletics, and experiential learning, students are prepared for success in college, careers, and life. 7th Grade Quarter 4 STARS Celebration!

Yesterday, our new 7th grade scholars looked back on the achievements that closed out their first year of middle school at Atmosphere Academy. The Quarter 4 Awards Ceremony celebrated the hard work, growth, and success they achieved as 6th graders, with some scholars receiving one of the most exciting rewards of all, their tickets to the Bahamas Explorers Trip! 🌴✈️

What a way to close one chapter and begin another. Now officially 7th graders, our scholars have even more opportunities, challenges, and unforgettable experiences ahead.

✨ The Last First Day - Class of 2027!

The Class of 2027 officially kicked off their senior year with our Last First Day celebration! On their first day of senior classes, scholars and their families captured a special milestone, the last of 13 “Back to School” moments, from kindergarten all the way to 12th grade.

Parents joined us for breakfast and had the opportunity to connect with their grade leader, school counselor, and members of our College and Operations teams as we prepare for an unforgettable year ahead.

Our High School New Family Orientation for the 2026–2027 school year was a great success! It was wonderful welcoming our newest scholars and families, introducing them to the Atmosphere community, and helping everyone prepare for an exciting year ahead.

💼🏦 Exploring the world of banking and finance!

As part of the Program, our scholars had the exciting opportunity to visit City National Bank, where they gained firsthand exposure to careers in banking, finance, and the professional world. Through conversations with industry professionals, students explored different career pathways, learned about the importance of financial literacy, and gained valuable insight into the skills and experiences that can help them succeed in the financial industry.

Experiences like these take career exploration beyond the classroom, connecting our scholars with professionals, real workplaces, and new possibilities for their futures.

From to soccer’s biggest stage ⚽⛵

Representing Atmosphere Academy, graduating seniors Luis and Patrick joined fellow Sail Academy students for an unforgettable FIFA World Cup 2026 experience at MetLife Stadium, made possible by our longtime partner, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).

The students were selected through essays reflecting on access to sports and the ways sailing has helped them grow.

Luis, who will attend SUNY Maritime this fall, wrote: “When programs open up access to sports that used to be exclusive, it breaks down barriers and proves that talent can come from anywhere.”

Patrick, who will begin his freshman year at LSU, reflected: “Through sailing, I learned the importance of communication, adaptability, and confidence. Access to sailing gave me much more than a chance to learn a sport, it gave me experiences and skills that will continue to guide me as I move forward into college and beyond.”

We are proud to celebrate Luis and Patrick as they take the lessons they learned on the water into their next chapters. Congratulations! 🎓💙
