Seton Teaching Fellows

Seton Teaching Fellows This is the year you decide to live beyond yourself.

Seton Teaching Fellows is a one or two-year postgraduate mission opportunity for missionaries to bring the living Gospel and the Catholic faith to children and families in underserved communities. Seton Teaching Fellows is an initiative of Seton Education Partners, participating in its mission to serve underprivileged children to develop the knowledge, character, and faith necessary to earn a coll

ege degree, pursue lives of value and integrity, and become saints. Fellows work as classroom teachers or support staff at Brilla Public Charter Schools and El Camino extended-day Catholic faith formation programs to serve disadvantaged children in the South Bronx who do not have the means to attend a Catholic school. Fellows participate in an intensive service experience encompassing three programmatic pillars: faith, community, and education. In this way, fellows, who are young, passionate, college-educated adults, have the unique opportunity to be at the forefront of this groundbreaking project to serve some of our nation’s poorest students in an unprecedented way, sharing their own gifts and talents as they teach their students’ hands, hearts, and minds. Seton Teaching Fellows are committed to service, professional development, and a simple lifestyle in a supportive, spiritually-nourishing community. Together, the fellows impact the academic and faith development of underserved children in the Mott Haven neighborhood of the South Bronx, New York, the poorest congressional district in America.

“You have become a new creation and have clothed yourself in Christ.”

God has profoundly transformed the hearts of many of our disciples in the Bronx as students received Baptism, First Holy Communion, First Reconciliation, and Confirmation. Through the witness and dedication of Seton Teaching Fellows, so many families have been blessed with this opportunity!
