On Saturday, July 18, we will gather with Detective Didarul Islam’s family, loved ones, fellow officers, and community to officially co-name Beach Avenue and East 172nd Street as Detective Didarul Islam Way.

Detective Islam was a devoted husband and father, a man of faith, a proud Bangladeshi immigrant, and a public servant who dedicated his life to protecting others. His courage, compassion, and service will now be permanently recognized in the Bronx.

Thank you to HUD for FINALLY making the NEW playground happen at Bronxdale Nursery!! Over 8 years in the making but our “Fed friends” finally made it happen by connecting us with the right folks in NYCHA and elsewhere!! 🎉👍

Mayor Mamdani said schools will close as a blizzard threatens between 18-24 inches of snow. The city received a waiver from the state because of a “unique set of extenuating circumstances,” he said.

Happy holidays and thank you every day to our wonderful teachers and staff!!
NYC, time to finally give these wonderful educators and support staff the raises and retro pay due to them in their new union contracts (ratified over a year ago).
They deserve full salary and benefit parity with their DOE counterparts, actually!! We will never stop fighting for them!!
