Remembering Don Pedro

I stand for equal access, mutual respect, and the right for every community to share its history without prejudice a the Jersey City Free Public Library. I stand against discrimination that often hides behind silence, delay, unexplained cancellations, and decisions made without accountability. Pa’lante siempre.

We will be celebrating 22 years of El Maestro, Inc. in The Bronx on Saturday March 15 from 2-9pm. will be there along with others selling books and art/crafts.

There will also be performances/presentations by poets, artists, and boxers. It will close with cultural performances. "Encuentro de escritores caribeños."

Remembering Don Pedro is an indepdendent, self-funded project. The best way to support is to purchase the Don Pedro English-language biography directly from the creator.

This is a valid critique of Don Pedro’s selections, as well as a sober reminder of the social forces that repressed women and hindered their participation in many aspects of social life.

While it can be understood why the seditious conspiracy trial and its conclusion succeeded in squashing Don Pedro’s attempt to accomplish the holding of a constitutional convention, it is unclear why researchers have failed in writing more about and contextualizing this by no means insignificant effort.
