Thanks to our whole JHS 123 community for coming out to support our soccer team in the championship game yesterday. In the words of Coach La Porta, “the support that the team felt yesterday and every day is simply amazing! We felt the love like a family feels love.”

To celebrate our Magnet theme, STEAM Engines: Innovators Driving Change, our school hosts a bi-annual Magnet Community Day where students and staff spend a morning participating in STEAM activities.

Yesterday’s Magnet Day featured innovative architectural design. Students were challenged to construct three different house prototypes: resourceful houses, sky-high houses, and hydro-houses. Each respective design was tested for durability, strength, and float-ability.

Here’s some highlights from the day!

It’s the final day of Breast Cancer Awareness month. A big thanks to our staff and students who helped raise awareness (and funds) this October. We wear pink in honor of those who have fought the disease. There’s still much more work to be done!

Twinning = Winning! It’s 8th Grade Spirit week and Ms. Ventura, Ms. Connell, and Ms. Zvonkov are matching their students in their Fall flannel.

But it looks like 6th grade team had to join in the fun too. May the Force be with Mr. Rosario, Mr. Fauci, and Mr. Mirowitz in their coordinating shirts.
