Have you heard about the Speech and Hearing Externship!??🔈 The Speech and Hearing externship program at Lehman College provides invaluable hands-on experience for students pursuing careers in communication sciences and disorders. Through this program, students have the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in real-world settings. Recently, participants had the unique chance to expand their cultural and professional horizons through a visit to Brazil. This experience allowed them to immerse themselves in diverse linguistic and cultural environments, enriching their understanding of global communication challenges and strategies. By engaging directly with local communities and professionals in Brazil, students not only enhanced their clinical competencies but also gained a deeper appreciation for the cultural contexts that shape communication disorders worldwide. This externship at Lehman College thus not only prepares students for clinical practice but also fosters a global perspective crucial in today’s interconnected world of speech and hearing sciences.
