What does the Bible say about a young man building his business before moving away from home?

One of the key verses is Proverbs 24:27

"Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house." - KJV

The Balance:

1. Young man phase (18-25): Prepare your work in the field. Learn a skill, work hard, show you can steward money and land. This is obedience for love of future family, not love of money.

2. House-building phase: After that, build your house — marry, have children.

3. Father phase: Now your business becomes tutoring your sons — building together, praying together, talking together — exactly what the Bible instructs.

The world flips it: Build a fancy house with no field, or stay in the field forever chasing money and never build the family.

God's order: Field → House → Tutor the next generation in the House.

Hebrew word study:
"Work" - mla'kah" = employment, business, property as result of labor
-"House" - bayith = a house in the greatest variation — especially family, household.

Commentators agree on two meanings that work together:

1. Literal:* Be financially secure before building a house.

2. Figurative:* Have provision and financial security before starting a family/household.

In other words: Don't build the family at the wrong time. Prepare the field first.

How the Bible orders it for a young man:

*A. Work / Business BEFORE House:

Genesis 2:15 - God gave Adam work in the garden before He gave him Eve. Work precedes household.

Proverbs 24:27 - Get your fields ready — prove you can provide — afterward build your house.

1 Timothy 5:8 - "If any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith." A man must learn provision.

This is NOT golden handcuffs. Golden handcuffs is obedience for money forever. Proverbs 24:27 is diligence for preparation so you can build a godly house.

B. Tutoring / Training Your Son - The Other Side:

Once the house is built, the father's primary work becomes discipleship:

Deuteronomy 6:6-7 - "And these words... thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way..."

Proverbs 22:6 - "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it."

Proverbs 23:26 - "My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways." — God wants the son's heart turned so he will watch and imitate the father's ways.

Ephesians 6:4 - "Fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord."

Proverbs 1:8* - "My son, hear the instruction of thy father"

Why does society believe single adult children or parents should live alone? Have we forgotten Psalm 68:6?

"God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land."

*In modern language this means:*

*1. "God setteth the solitary in families"*
_Solitary_ = lonely, isolated, childless, orphaned, abandoned.
God doesn't leave people alone. He places them into community, family, belonging. In its original context, this was very literal for Israel: women without children, people without tribe, were given a place. For Christians, it's often applied to the Church as a spiritual family.

*2. "He bringeth out those which are bound with chains... to prosperity/joy"*
God is a liberator. Just as He freed Israel from Egypt, He frees people from literal slavery, exile, and spiritual bo***ge — addiction, sin, oppression — and leads them into freedom and abundance, not just out of prison, but _into_ a safe place. (A family)

*3. "But the rebellious dwell in a dry land"*
Contrast. Those who resist God, who reject His rescue and community, choose isolation. "Dry land" in the Bible always means barrenness, lifelessness, no growth, no blessing. It's not that God punishes them by making them dry — their rebellion itself leads to a dry, empty existence.

*God has a father's heart.* He sees the lonely and the locked-up, and His nature is to give them family and freedom.

What would Artificial intelligence say the statement we make to the world would be?

Colossians 3:12 - "Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience."
