Simms Elementary will welcome Mrs. Dottie Williams as principal beginning July 1.

A proud La Marque High School graduate, Williams has deep roots in this community and is returning home to a campus she knows well. She previously served as an instructional specialist at Simms Elementary and now returns to lead the school after serving as assistant principal at Levi Fry Intermediate since 2021.

Williams began her career in education in 1996 and brings nearly 30 years of experience supporting students, staff and families in Texas City ISD. Throughout her career, she has served in several instructional leadership roles including math interventionist at Levi Fry Intermediate and instructional specialist at both Guajardo Elementary and Simms Elementary.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in interdisciplinary studies from Paul Quinn College and a Master of Education in educational administration from Lamar University.

Known for her student-centered leadership and passion for building strong relationships, Williams is excited to return to the Simms family and continue the great work happening on campus.

Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Williams back to Simms Elementary. πŸ’™πŸ–€

As I prepare to say goodbye to Simms Elementary, my heart is filled with gratitude and pride. Serving as your principal has been an incredible blessing, and I will forever cherish the memories we’ve created together.

To our students β€” thank you for bringing joy, curiosity, and excitement into our halls every day. Watching you learn and grow has been the greatest reward.

To our teachers and staff β€” thank you for your dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to excellence. You are the foundation of what makes Simms so special.

And to our families and community β€” thank you for your constant support and trust throughout our 2 years. Together, we were able to experience success.

Although my chapter at Simms is coming to an end, Simms Elementary will always be home in my heart. I am thankful for every moment, every smile, and every friendship along the way.

I’ll show the leader in me everyday… by doing things the Panther Way! πŸ’™πŸ–€πŸΎ
