Last Saturday we held a Hawaiian Luau cooking night where Chef Hoffman taught students how to make a traditional Hawaiian meal and then enjoy eating it!

Students had a fabulous time Tuesday journeying back in time to Newman's Castle for a morning of medieval exploration. This was followed by lunch and then some 1800's Texas history at the San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site.
Next trip this semester is to see Stephen King's Misery at the Alley Theatre...if you like a little terror in your theatre, join us for the evening performance on Tuesday, 6/16...there are some spots still available so give us a call 409-933-8461!

Join us for our upcoming trip next Tuesday, 6/9 when we travel to Newman’s Castle in Bellville, TX for a morning of castle exploration! See the moat, working drawbridge, portcullis, five turrets, courtyard, chapel, and central keep with dramatic views of the surrounding lands. In the afternoon, visit San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site, where Stephen F. Austin established his 1823 colony headquarters—the social, economic, and political hub of early Texas settlement. Lunch is included for a full day of history, exploration, and adventure!

On Tuesday we held our last community education workshop for the semester. Students learned how to transform simple paper strips into a unique floral design by rolling, shaping, and gluing each piece together. Thank you Myrle Waller for sharing your love of a centuries-old art form with us!

Thank you Durelle Brown for leading a creative and energetic 2-part workshop where students learned how to turn old books into one-of-a-kind journals! So many different ideas and types of journal-making supplies were shared that it was almost overwhelming. Students left with their repurposed books plus many, many ideas for filling them too!
