🐊💙 STAFF SPOTLIGHT: MRS. HARRIS! 💙🐊
It’s time to Meet the Gator! Today we’re shining the spotlight on Mrs. Harris, a 17-year teaching veteran who brings plenty of humor, heart, and wisdom to DJH! 🍎
🌮 Her forever meal? Mexican food — chips, queso, fajitas...she’s happy!
🎤 Karaoke pick? “Crazy” by Patsy Cline, performed with far more seriousness than karaoke probably requires. 😂
😂 What makes her laugh? Sixth graders attempting to whisper. According to Mrs. Harris, sixth graders have never whispered a day in their lives.
💸 Give her $10 million and Pinterest is taking over — she's renovating the entire house!
☂️ And if she had to teach as a character for a week? Mary Poppins, complete with increasingly ridiculous things coming out of her bag.
Mrs. Harris has wanted to teach since third grade, when she lined up her teddy bears and fussed at them for not singing correctly. 🧸🎶 After 17 years in education, teaching has taught her patience, resilience, flexibility, and that sometimes you just have to laugh and try again tomorrow.
Her message to students is one worth remembering: One bad day, one bad grade, or one mistake does not define you. Learn from it, keep going, and know that someone believes in what you're capable of. 💙
And her favorite thing about DJH? The students. They're funny, unpredictable, challenging, and never boring — and getting to be a small part of who they're becoming is pretty special. 🐊
