🍎Texas City ISD has named Sarah Tumey as the new principal of Hayley Elementary School effective July 1.

Tumey brings nearly 20 years of experience in education to the role. A graduate of La Marque High School, she began her career in La Marque ISD as a pre-kindergarten teacher and has served in a variety of instructional and leadership roles throughout her career. She currently serves as assistant principal at Sarah Giles Middle School, where she has supported campus operations, curriculum implementation, student achievement and staff development since 2022. Prior to that, she served as instructional specialist at Kohfeldt Elementary.

Tumey earned an associate degree from San Jacinto College, a Bachelor of Arts from McNeese State University, and a master’s degree in educational administration from Lamar University.

TCISD once again Is offering complimentary summer breakfast and lunch meals for children throughout the community this summer. Meals are available Monday through Thursday at multiple campus and community locations to help ensure students have access to nutritious food during the summer months.
