s children arrive at kindergarten unprepared in at least one critical learning domain, we've decided to tackle those learning domains in the developmental years. We are helping our children by the "learn through play method" which makes everything a learning and problem solving adventure. We have teachers that specialize in the areas of early reading, writing and advanced milestones for the first 4 critical years which will result in children being beyond adequately ready for Kindergarten! We are also aware that 20% of children entering kindergarten in Virginia face challenges with social skills. Set Apart Homeschooling Academy's children will become social butterflies all while learning in a safe and loving environment. Lastly, did you know that early education can boost the language, literacy and math skills of both low and middle income children? Since SAHA is a holistically ran day school we cater to the whole child. Physically, mentally and spiritually and also offer organic meals and snacks to keep your little people growing while learning about the world around them! 📖 WHAT IF YOUR CHILD DIDN’T JUST KNOW SCRIPTURE… BUT KNEW HOW TO STUDY IT?

Many young people can repeat what they’ve been told a passage means.

But can they open the Tanakh for themselves, examine the text, recognize context, investigate Hebrew words, compare passages, ask difficult questions, and explain why they believe an interpretation is correct?

That’s what we’re developing in Tanakh Studies I: Becoming a Student of the Text at Set Apart Hebrew Academy. 🔎📜

Our students in grades 7–9 will learn to:

📖 OBSERVE — Slow down and see what the text actually says.
🔎 INVESTIGATE — Explore Hebrew words, context, literary structure, and historical setting.
🔗 CONNECT — Discover how Torah, Nevi’im, and Ketuvim speak to one another.
💬 WRESTLE — Engage difficult passages, compare interpretations, and ask better questions.
📜 APPLY — Move from understanding the Word to living it with purpose.

We’ll also enter the Beit Midrash, where students learn to discuss, question, investigate, respectfully disagree, and support their conclusions with evidence.

Our classroom motto is simple:

“SHOW ME IN THE TEXT.”

We aren't raising children who simply repeat someone else's conclusions.

We want to develop young students of Tanakh who know how to read carefully, think critically, study humbly, and handle the Word responsibly.
