The Arkansas House of Representatives is currently accepting applications for temporary part-time positions with the Communications Office for the 2027 Regular Session. All staff positions in the House are non-partisan.
Duties primarily include assisting with the live stream of committee meetings. Training is provided, and no prior experience is needed. Other duties could include assistance in writing website and social media content.
We are also seeking a highly motivated photography intern to help document the legislative session. All photography candidates must have a strong skill set with a portfolio demonstrating a keen understanding of lighting, moment, and composition. Candidates need to be proficient in Adobe Photoshop and other editing tools (Photo Mechanic, Lightroom, etc.) and have the willingness to learn proper archiving practices. Mirrorless gear will be provided. Photo interns will also be trained to assist with the live stream as needed.
This is an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience while observing public service and the legislative process in action.
The positions pay $18/hour. Students typically work 20 hours a week from mid-December to May (or the end of the session).
Work hours are scheduled around class schedules. However, applicants will need to be available from 9am-12pm at least two days a week (Mon-Thu). Background checks will be required.
